    Ravenloft vs. Call of Chtulu

You could use the CoC rules for characters and the Ravenloft book for the setting. I beleive the campaign that is posted on the Kargatane page uses normal people for the characters. Just an idea...

Ravenloft - Denizens of Darkness - comments?

As a note I like Ravenloft. I have all of the d20 books for Ravenloft. The book is good in my opinion, but you can see the the White Wolf influence on the book.

    Same class party

I would think that an all cleric party would be quite successful. The group could fight and cast spells well enough to over come most problems.

    CoC: the HP alternative

I don't know really I like the 1d6 hp + con bonus per lvl in the d20 system. I was just offering an idea for the thread. I bought the d20 first then I went out and bought the Chaosium book and I think I will be using that system for most of my games. Although I think I will use d20 for the Pulp...

CoC: The Importance of Hoaxes and False Leads

You could make the solution to the adventure seem mundane, but in a later adventure let the investigators learn something more about the events at the time. You could call for a sanity roll once they realize that what happened wasn't what they thought. All the while keeping the supernatural...

    D20 taking over?

Chaosium and Pinnacle producers of Call of Cthulhu and Deadlands both like their own systems better than d20 rules. They have stated on their sites as well as producing new supplement that will be dual stat'ed. I was reading the BRP Call of Cthulhu and the d20 both of which I own. This one...

    Good Non d20 systems?

The original Deadlands and Call of Cthulhu are good systems. Both Peginc and Chaosism like their own systems and the d20 versions I think are just an attempt at getting into another market but they will continue to support their owns systems full force. I do have to say that the original...

    Armor reducing damage

Yes in the abstract combat that is presented in the d20 rules, but this would be a debate about that provides damage reduction. With any amount of realism in combat and armor. Chainmail does nothing more than provide some protection for sliced, but the force of the blade coming down on you would...

    Armor reducing damage

Well if you took the example of chainmail armor. It does not make since that chainmail would reduce any damage for a blunt weapon. I personaly think that if armor reduced damage then it would be taking the damage its self thus adding the extra stats of hardness.

    Point Buy Systems?

I live in Huntington, WV about 3 hours away. I was just in Columbus about two weeks dropping off my girl friend at the airport. I hope to make it to Origins so I can play some games.
