Can you teleport out of a glue trap?

So if I'm sovereign-glued to a stone pillar by the hand, and I try to cut my hand off with an axe, the axe's blade would have no effect? I don't think that's right...

    Barbarian Whirling Frenzy Variant

Agreed. (Pay no mind to Infiniti. ;) )

    Barbarian Whirling Frenzy Variant

IMO, no, it is not balanced. It is overpowered.

On average, how much damage do your party fighters do?

My current fighter-type is 8th level (Str 14), and uses a +1 longsword at +10/+5 doing 1d8+4 per hit (yes, there is a reason it's not 1d8+3). He frequently gets buffed with bull's strength, making it +12/+7 and 1d8+6 per hit, though.

What do you use for a character sheet?

I use the new stat-block format presented in DMG2, with a "portrait" of the character in the upper right-hand corner, printed out on a single sheet of paper.

"What do you mean I can't...?"

You can. It's called a double-move, with a completely ineffectual sword-wave in the middle. :D

    Use Magic Device

Except for the explicit statement that they do. I know how to boot up a computer. That doesn't mean I have the password.

    Use Magic Device

No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just two things: (1) a special knowledge of spellcasting, and (2) a command word. Anyone with a spell on his or her spell list knows #1. That's right. But you don't necessarily know the "single word that must be spoken." I think you do.

    Use Magic Device

I don't see why not. That's what "blindly" implies to me.

CSI Miami, Lawful Good, and Paladins... ?

A LG character certainly can. First of all, Lawful does not mean "law-abiding." Second, "few people are completely consistent. A lawful good character may have a greedy streak that occasionally tempts him to take something or hoard something he has, even if that's not lawful or good...

Do your players expect discounts for party made magic items?

I don't know about you, but I would expect a character who takes an item creation feat to end up "somewhat better equipped" than a character who takes, say, Power Attack instead. I mean, that's the whole point, isn't it?

    Dispel Magic vs. multiple summoning

I'm not sure if Hyp is being serious or just trying to illustrate one of the absurdities that can result from interpreting the rules too literally, but...the way I would handle it is that any badgers in the area of the dispel magic spell are subject to being dispelled on a successful dispel...

    [Eberron] Revisiting Warforged

True (silly, but true), but all that means is a warforged needs to carry about 16 pounds of gear in order to walk along the bottom.

    Set to Receive Charge

I agree. FWIW, I don't think the rules require a spear-user to Ready an action with the trigger: "If so-and-so Charges, I..." I would consider a trigger such as "If so-and-so enters my threatened area" to be "setting one's spear against" a (possible) charge. But then, I tend to favor more...

    Balancing "RP" and "G"

You misunderstand me. The challenges I'm speaking of are things like "how to increase my chances of hitting high-AC opponents" and the methods of overcoming them are things like "make sure I don't multiclass into poor-BAB classes, cast bless at the start of difficult battles, and take the...

    Balancing "RP" and "G"

You're close, but not quite there, RedWick. I'm one of the anti-fudgers, yet I would never consider myself a "DM vs Player" type. It's actually more of a "player vs. the game system" thing. The game system presents challenges for me as a player to overcome. If I start to suspect that the DM...

    Creating Scrolls with another caster

Well, I'm not really trying to convince you so much as make sure you don't misinform others who may read these boards about what the rules actually are. I think I've accomplished my goal, so...game on! :)

    Creating Scrolls with another caster

Because scrolls, potions, and wands are all spell completion or spell trigger items; they never have non-spell prerequisites. Rods, wondrous items, and staves (such as a Staff of Power) do sometimes have other prerequisites. No. "It is possible for more than one character to cooperate in the...
