WotC PDF??? So Morrus Tweeted this

Any chance of these being sold someplace that's not RPGNow? I'm unable to download from them, their water marking process goes into an infinite loop no matter what browser or computer I use. Something about my ISP, apparently.

    D&D 5E DDN Concept Art

The humans and elves look okay (though now I know why elves don't sleep, I dunno how they can lie down without breaking those ears) but the Halflings look like bobble head dolls.

    multiple attacks ?

Well, 5/4 is for monks, and as it says "5/4 means 5 attacks per 4 rounds, with the additional attack coming at the end of the round sequence", which I would take mean that on the 4th round the monk gets 2 attacks. But probably easier to front load it, especially as monks in 1e kind of stink.

Planescape: Torment Sequel - Set in Monte Cook's Numenera

I've never been able to get through any of the Infinite Engine games because of the combat (just can't hack real time combat and the small text/characters), but PS:T was the furthest I got out of the bunch. I wonder if they will having a talking skull in every game in the series? Sort of like...

    Pathfinder 1E Our dm ran into a problem . . . .

Hmmmm, it's in a module I have called "Legacy of the Savage Kings". Maybe it was reprinted as something else (Doom of the Savage Kings?), without that info?

Looking for suggestions for skill list....

I'm sort of tweaking the Blood & Treasure skill list. It's a retro clone that uses 3e as a base, but uses the reflex saves as skill levels. It kind of trims down the 3e skill list. I added a couple more from other sources, mostly for classes I was adding (Disguise for the Assassin, Escape Artist...

    D&D 4E What to Name a Fan-Written 'Pathfinder of 4e'?

    Forerunner. If it's not taken.

    OSR OSRIC Versions?

I think the only thing from UA (including classes and spells and items) included is weapon specialization for fighters. Which is somewhat controversial, since many consider it overpowered (double specialization at least). Don't think it has any additional monsters from FF/MM2, even those in the...

"Exclusive deals suck!" - James Mathe's rant about the tabletop industry

That's a good point, especially since for some reason related to my ISP, I can't even buy from RPGNow, so I am simply locked out of the store, which if nothing else, means I miss out on a lot of cool freebies, not to mention things like Barrowmaze (which I would love to buy). And I actually did...

    What happened to this site?

Is having a white background really so odd? The vast majority of websites seem to use it, long before Facebook. I hate to say it, but the hack was kind of an upside, this is the first time ENWorld was really legible to me. I've never understood the appeal of a black background.

An examination of the cost of magic.

Unless I'm missing something (and I might, since I only played 3.0 and that was a while ago), don't casters only get basically 4 bonus spells if they have an 18 in their casting stat? 1 1st, 1 2nd, 1 3rd, 1 4th? Doesn't seem like it would be a gamebreaker...

    ELITE reboot kickstarter!

Woohoo! I didn't pledge because it was in pounds and the last time I did something with a UK merchant I got charged a huge currency conversion fee, but I am very much looking forward to it and will certainly buy it when it comes out. Elite was the original game in the genre and I played it a...

    Question on Medieval Succession rules

From what I've read of history, there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule. Usually this is the sort of thing that would cause wars - rival sides trying to claim a title. In the end, might makes right. William the Conqueror, for instance, was the illegitimate son of the Duke of Normandy...

Pathfinder 1E Questions about the Pathfinder Online MMO for Ryan Dancey, Mark Kalmes, or Lisa Stevens?

A lot of these questions are answered in the KS. It's a sandbox, so no quests or story (or at least they are minimized) and that's why they picked an empty part of the world to set it in. It's essentially trying to be a fantasy version of Eve, so forget about solo-ing. There aren't using the...

When I say "Scorched Earth" what do you think of?

D'oh, I was going to say the PC game. One of the better implementations of the Artillery game

    Rebirth of Synnibarr

I honestly never understood the hate for it. It's somewhat goofy and over the top with not so great rules. But so is Rifts. Heck, for old schoolers, so is Arduin, yet that gets a lot of love

    Razor Coast Kickstarter is live

Maybe I would be more impressed if I knew who Nick Logue was, but $110 for a 250 page book? And $150 for both books...

Pathfinder 1E [langtitle=nt]Pathfinder[/langtitle] Mythic Adventures Playtest (Epic "Levels")

I think it's a case of the 5e posts driving out much of the PF traffic (not that there was a lot when there was a separate board, but...)

D&D 1E Armor book mentioned in 1e DMG now on Gutenberg

Buried somewhat in the magical armor section in the DMG, EGG mentioned a reference work where he derived the AD&D armor from. Armour & Weapons by Charles John Ffoulkes Well, as that work is quite old, 1909, it's in the public domain in probably all places, and it's finally shown up on...

D&D 5E So, have we missed the boat on simple character creation?

I really think they blew a huge opportunity with The Hobbit coming out. They should have reprinted an old Basic D&D box D&D used to be a gateway RPG. But now it's just too complex to serve as one.
