    Rap/Gansta: Perferences?

People, it's 'gangsta', or if you want to be proper, 'gangster', but not 'gansta'. The second 'g' has to be there. Sorry. Had to get that out of my system. To me, it's worse than the 'rogue/rouge' thing. Actually, Ice-T was around before N.W.A. was, they just came onto the scene more...

    Rap/Gansta: Perferences?

I love gangsta rap. Sure, if you're judging musicians as role models, gangsta rappers come up short. But so do most good rock acts. The music world is full of drunks and junkies living debauched lifestyles, but that doesn't mean I want to restrict my listening to wholesome acts, many of whom...

    City of Splendors: Waterdeep

Keep in mind that Ed is writing this one, Eric Boyd is. Still, it'll be heavily based on his material, and he could still sign it regardless. City of Splendors is much better. It contains several books of info, and plenty of maps to use it. City System is mostly just a series of maps...

Do you make your own adventures?

In the past (2nd edition era and before) I used almost all original adventures, but set most of my games in published campaign worlds (mostly Forgotten Realms with a couple of Dark Sun mini-campaigns). But in my 3e campaign, it's the opposite -- I use a homebrewed world, but so far have used...

    D&D: How Many Core Books

Why do you need the DMG to advance beyond 1st level? Only one of my eight players have a copy fo the DMG, and that's only because he's hoping to run a game for his nephews soon. Most of them have only the PHB, or nothing at all. As for familiars, I don't find it a big problem to hand over the...

how do you make your overland maps?

I mostly use freehand, and in fact always do for city or dungeon maps. My national/regional map is a hand drawn and hand colored, then scanned & Photoshoped. My continental/world map was drawn completely with MS Paint, thanks to a very slow temp job I had six or seven years ago. As for...

    An Idea about Dungeon Magazine

I agree with Joshua and Jeff that this poll makes very little sense. At any rate, I think Dungeon is great, but from what I understand Paizo doesn't have a very easy time being profitable with it. So I think that trying to start a competing mag would not be a very smart idea, business-wise...

What D&D products have had 3D components?

There was a run of products with foldup buildings in the early 2nd edition era. Some of these Treebore has mentioned above: Castles boxed set WGA1 Falcon's Revenge WGA2 Falconmaster WGA3 Flames of the Falcon All four of those were released in 1990. Plus there was FR8 Cities of Mystery(1989)...

Can I insert the Adventure Path into Sharn without starting at the beginning?

The location of the city of Cauldron (built into the crater of a volcano) is pretty important to the series as far as I can remember. You might have better luck starting the campaign in Sharn but having it move to Xen'drik and having Cauldron be a forgotten colony there.

I just ate the Red Violin of pizzas

Probably something like that ;). I've only had it once but it was pretty memorable. My wife was in New Haven a few weeks ago (to get me a present at IKEA) and ate there and she said it lived up to her memory. I might have to make a road trip down there to get one soon.

X/day mechanic; what's the problem? (Mercule, looking your way...)

I missed that one, and had to flip through a couple of books to find it (in Masters of the Wild), I guess I never paid much attention to the feat selection in that book. But yeah, that's certainly a whole different beast than the 3.5 version in Complete Warrior.

I just ate the Red Violin of pizzas

I think the best pizza is at Frank Pepe's on Wooster St in New Haven, CT. It's better than anything I've had in Boston or New York, and blows any pizza from out west away. I haven't had much pizza eating experience in Chicago, but I find "Chicago style" pizza to be a whole different animal anyway.

X/day mechanic; what's the problem? (Mercule, looking your way...)

What don't you like about Power Critical? I think it's a great feat. Furthermore, I don't understand the connection to Sudden Metamagic (what book is that from anyway?) or these other abilities, as Power Critical is not limited to a certain number of times/day.

    I despise leftovers

I don't mind leftovers, but I'll echo Crothian's sentiments that it's all in the preparation. When reheating pizza, try dribbling a little water on it before you throw it in the oven (or toaster oven). As a matter of fact, this can work with lots of stuff. For example, if there's not enough...

The Forest Oracle - your experiences?

Then why have you dubbed it "classic"? I've never heard anyone refer to this one as a classic. Does anything 1st edition count? I hope this doesn't come off as a snipe, it's not intended to be, I'm actually curious.

How long have you been with your gaming group?

My current group includes one one player that's only been playing for a few years, my wife (about six years since her first session), three people from my college group (just about 10 years), and three from my original group that started playing in junior high (about 17-18 years). Of those, one...
