This sounds like an exceptional example of what should NOT be a feat, but something gained through RP. Why should a character / player be able to simply decide that they will "spend" their feat on gaining a patron like this?? nonsense, nonsense i tell you!

That was the impression I got :) Played one of those once. Sucked. Mainly due to Rifts - somehow having me running around with throwing knives and some tattoos that spawned gibbons, and another player in glitter-boy armor, didn't seem quite right to me. But then, I hate lasers and mechs anyway :)
