Combat Challenge - PCs vs Dragon

That's all right... We'll just bring along a few tons of magnesium in bags of holding...

Seriously, though - let's keep this whole thing at least remotely reasonable, and try to stick close to the core materials to preserve some sort of balance, eh? I know what rules we have to go by to create the PC's, what rules are being used to generate the dragon and his lair, if any?

Rules...

Standard dragon rules, with 4 levels of an undisclosed class.
He's only going to have 3 magic items, the rest is generated at straight gold/gems, because he would actually have that.

The lair is a fairly standard cavern in a swamp, which quite a few suprises for the unwanted hero.

People didn't want a hoard of cohorts and summoned creature, so additional creatures in the lair will be limited, either in numbers or to certain areas which serve more as traps than anything else.

Fair nuff?

Come on... would I really be nasty enough to put a maze in an underground acid lake in the lair?

Heh, heh, heh....
Hmm.. what is the Concentration check to cast a spell while your face is dissolving?

Those terms are fine with me...we're dragonslayers and you've eaten your share of them, so a certain amount of minmaxing should be expected, but nuthing too far over the top :)

I'm in, if you'll have me.
Standard 30 point buy, core books only and default wealth levels?

Edited-----> Also Average HP? And when do you need characters in by?

Thanks

Go the RPGA route for hit points.
Max at first level.
HD / 2 + 1 for all levels after that.

Example Rogue/Ranger 2/2

6 + 4 + 6 + 6 = 22 w/ no con bonuses & first level is Rogue.

I should have everything ready to send by Monday night to Monkeyboy, so that any issues on what I came up with can be ironed out.

I assume most of the players are ready?
