    Are tumble Checks too easy?

You only tumble at half speed, therefore after the double move away you are only a single moves distance from them. The guard then move next to you and ready an action. You try to tumble away again and all the readied actions go off stunning, tripping, grappling or killing you (depending on how...

    Are tumble Checks too easy?

Ummm.... Tumble scales depending on how many people you tumble past, how difficult the floor is and whether you are going through or round their square? At least in 3.5

    Darkness, Blur, and Hiding

Darkness applies it to an area, blur only applies to yourself. If somebody disappears from sight and there is only a blurry blob left in view then it is obvious where the person is, if the whole area is blurry then suddenly hiding becomes viable.

    Mirror Image Sage Advice

The charger could decide to try and overrun the images till they get to the one they think is real. If they guess wrong you get to choose to get out of the way or take the attack.

    Hide Skill & Dakvision

Adventuring - Exploration - Vision and Light, last paragraph (page 165) A creature can't hide within 60 feet of a character with darkvision unless it is invisible or has cover. So yes you need cover if you adventure in the underdark.

Raise Dead now costs 5000 GP!

It takes you down a level so it makes sense that it removes a reasonable proportion of that levels cash. Makes sense.

    Using Bucklers without proficiency

IIRC when using a small shield you can hold something in that hand but not use (manipulate it). As such I have my cleric pass his weapon to the shield hand (free action), cast the spell (standard), move the weapon back (free action), MA if desired. It limits clerics to small shields (or...

    Paladin Warhorse

DMG: page 96 - Variant: Summoning Individual monsters #blah# Specific Creatures: Whenever a spellcaster summons a single creature of a given type, it's always the same creature. A player can roll the ability scores and hit points for each creature that his character can summon. His specific...

Eyes of charming vs. Mirror of Suggestion

Eyes of Charming are a set of glasses you can wear all the time. Mirror of suggestion is a small mirror you have to pull out of a pocket (whilst not currently holding anything) and start waving at the 'bad' guys. Check out the rules for hitting an object held in a hand and you'll realise this...

    Need help calculating Party CR

The range of levels is really too much to really support. Calculating the EL of the rest of the party means the level 10 guy has a 50/50 chance of killing the rest of the party by himself. [2 5's are a 7, 2 6's are 8, the 7 and 5's are a 9, all of them together are between EL10 and EL11] That...

Healing domain and scrolls of CLW

A common ruling is to apply healing domain to the effect of casting. The scroll you make is 1d8+1 but when you cast it you get 1d8+2 out of it. Same if you use a scroll somebody else makes, wands, etc. Due to the blessings of your deity healing magic is just more effective from you. I can't...

    Identify... this!

Detect Magic gives the level of the item (e.g. +2 weapon). Now you can sell it for it's correct price [also allows magic shop owners to sell items correctly without needing to cast 6th level spells]. Identify tells you the lowest level as per spell description. For the few items where...

    Revised DR

Because a titan loses 30 points of damage from his 60 point hit and the pixie only loses 2 points from it's 4 point hit. For the player who likes getting really high point crits implementing this rule will get you dead DMs :) The main reason against the golf bag is quite simply wealth...

Do NPCs have to follow the rules?

When I started running my campaign I made cards with NPC stats on (easier than flicking from page to page in the MM). Over time I have no built up a stock of simple background NPCs (city guard, light thug, heavy thug, guild thief, etc.) so general mooks are easy enough. Its a bit of extra work...

Rapid Shot vs. Two Weapon Fighting

and against the 1st level commoner with a tower shield? There are many, many counters to archery but fewer against melee. Archery has a lot of benefits but it also has a lot of weaknesses.

    Identifying Magic Items.

Detect magic for level Identify for details Analyze Dwoemer for any differences in the first two. Works for me but I haven't really got to the high levels where Analyze is needed yet so I can't say for certain.

Using Multi-attack action with different weapons

Maybe I'm thinking about Quickened spells. The glossary says '... one or more such action ...' so you're probably right. I still wouldn't allow it tho :) [I'm just like that]

    Paladin's mount NA

to quote: 'Natural Armor: the number listed here is an improvement to the mount's AC. It represents the preternatural toughness of a paladin's mount.' explicitily explained in the text under the chart - its an IMPROVEMENT. [at least thats what it says in the first printing of the PH]

Using Multi-attack action with different weapons

The books suggest you limit to only one free action a round. Since dropping a weapon is a free action and quick draw is also a free action I personally wouldn't allow it. That said I can't see anything abusive about it. YMMV
