[Dallas Gameday] Aftermath and Commentary starts on Page 10!

OK, thanks. That makes things much simpler. By the way, at breakfast, could we get a ride from somebody from the bank to where ever the group was planning on eating and back to the bank again? Also, was lunch going to follow the same plan as breakfast?

d20Dwarf, about the Midnight game, neither me nor Bill (who is playing in it) has the Midnight book. Is there any special rules (rolling attributes, starting gold, 3.0 or 3.5, etc.) that we need to keep in mind when creating a character for it? Also, what is the plan for lunch?

Bill wants to play the elf wizard and he wants his character to be named Kamahl. I'll play the dwarf fighter and a good name might be Rogg Firewater. By the way, I've not had a chance recently to get all the people of my group together to sign the NDAs for the Nevermore playtest, so that's why...

    Converted Movie Heroes & Monsters

Someone did whole pdf mini-settings for Terminator and Aliens at Taliens Tower and someone did a James Bond conversion in the d20 modern netbook of famous characters on Darksoldier's site

What strange or oddball campaigns are you using d20 Modern for?

Wow. A lot of good ideas here! I may have to steal Wormwood's League of Reagan-Era Gentlemen idea. The psionic faster-than-light space travel idea could be used in a lot of games other than d20Modern too. Anyway, for my tentatively titled "fantasy-mech" game, I'm ripping off the background...

    Plot Killer: Detect evil

Here's a few ideas. 1. Have multiple evil suspects who are around when they cast detect evil. It's up to the players to figure out the real culprit. 2. Use Neutral or even good villains. An evilly-aligned red herring could go with this as well. Or use good or neutral patsies, mooks...

It looks like my friend Bill wants to come to the game day too. Sign him up for the Midnight game in Slot 1 and the Nevermore game in Slot 2. Thanks.

    What the?!

These creatures look like they have been near the local nuclear power plant for too long (or even worse- eating too much airline food).

GAG unite! We march in the morning!

I just realized I liked gnomes a whole lot. Will you take members whose sanity is questionable (although a lot of people say that is required to be able to like gnomes :D). As for the 2/3.0/3.5E gnome debate, we should not let these trivial differences come between us. Gnomes and gnome-lovers...

All the Different Types of Golems

A while ago, the Wizards website put out a fairly comprehensive golem Monster Mayham, including a list of golems from all the previous editions. I like the Ravenloft golems (known as the Created or in 3E, Dread Constructs) that are intelligent and self-aware and created not by magic but by the...

Cool. I'm sending you an email. As for a character I'd like to play, since it's somewhat of a dream world, I think a psion (telepath, seer, or shaper) would be neat if you allow psionics. If not, maybe some sort of spellcaster. I like humans and gnomes the best, but I'm not too picky.

    So where's the Half-Troll?

In addition, IIRC, there was a half-troll in Bastion Press' Minions monster book. There may be a few other versions I am forgetting. The half-troll idea seems to be fairly popular.

    Fishing in TX

I live in the Grapevine-Colleyville area and would like a game that's somewhat different from your standard Sword-and-Sorcery, FR type campaign.

    Why don't dwarves like magic?

Because it's tradition pure and simple (like- for all fellow Pratchett fans- how it's not polite to ask a dwarf's gender unless you're courting them)

What strange or oddball campaigns are you using d20 Modern for?

What strange or unique campaigns are you using it for/have ideas for? My group has used it (and Urban Arcana) to run a few Illuminati University/IOU d20 games (originally a GURPS setting). I'm also thinking about running a quasi-anime fantasy mecha-game with magically powered mecha in a...

Abrupt end to my RttToEE Campaign

You could always have them found by another adventuring part and turned back later. Or maybe found by the evil cultists and turned into slave labor for nearby mines or something and have them break out of the Temple instead of into it, running the module into some reverse order.

Put me down for the Escape from Monkey Zombie Island (or Made.. Men or any of the other of Sam Whitt's) game. My vote goes for the first two of Sam Whitt's options, but all look pretty good. What is the Nevermore game? Is it D&D, d20 or a different game system all together? And maybe some more...

Augury and Divination (or, Annoying your God to death)

"Oh greatest Lord, who will win the Horse Race next week" "What company should your most devout servant invest in to reap the greatest benefit? Who will bring in the most money and be the most secure?" Ask questions about gambling or investing in the stock market (same thing ;) ) if the...
