If I want to play an all magic user game I play MtAw. I don't like 4e's implementation of balance but there does need to be some version of it. Pre 3.0 DnD's kind worked well enough for me.

I would say if Wotc is successful at making 5e decently compatible with older dnd games the support will come even if not directly. Because the product they are already producing will be easily ported in regardless. John Goodman of Goodman Games said much in the DCC thread.
