The Order of the Ebon Rose (A Sample Monastic Order)

Hmm I suppose you're right about the weapons, the "using as a monk weapon" term always set off my munchkin-o-meter. :) I was thinking it was a bit worse, like any one handed weapon or something. I dunno, dont mind me, need more sleep. :D No need to rewrite the class for psionics, just have...

New Magical Item, Gloves of Throwing

Bows do get the ability to stack bonuses, but bows also have a lot of disadvantages. They take up both your hands (this is only the glove slot), you can't normally add your strength to damage (needs to be composite), and you still need to pull out a weapon for melee (when throwing weapons you...

The Order of the Ebon Rose (A Sample Monastic Order)

Just a minor quibble, but it seems their enhanced weapon use is fairly strong. I would reduce some other aspect of the class to balance it out, requiring the expenditure of skill ranks isn't enough. How about removing the monks stunning blow ability? That would seem to be a natural trade off...

New Magical Item, Gloves of Throwing

Cost should probably be either 150% or 200%, depending on how powerful you make it. Personally, I would restrict it to nonmagical weapons, perhaps also that they be masterwork. That both prevents stacking issues and keeps people from throwing around +5 flaming chairs. :)

    What's wrong with this PrC?

I don't recall any rule about retaining extraordinary abilities in any ex-classes, but in your case it shouldn't matter. Nearly every ability you have listed should be either supernatural or spell-like, especially those that are actual spells. And the one thing that should be extraordinary...

Need help! How would YOU find an invisible tower?

Huzza! Success! Congrats on advancing to the next life threatening situation! :D The situation was certainly more interesting than I had expected, what with stone giants and horrible widlife (what was that anyway? I guess I'll have to read the story hour...). I was sorta right about one...

    What's wrong with this PrC?

Looks pretty good. Nothing seems too powerful and indeed, probably is bit weaker than most prestige classes. Not too badly, though. The wide variety of abilites give this class versatility if nothing else. Succor seems odd as a class feature, it should just be part of the flavor text but its...

    Do Undead Still Have Souls?

Another possiblity is that the souls are neither trapped within the undead nor at rest nor destroyed. Rather, they are trapped halfway between life and the afterlife, and is in torment because of it. Intelligent undead can be in a similar state, but with soul pulled closer to the undead so that...

Need help! How would YOU find an invisible tower?

Trying to randomly hit it with any magic is a *horrible* idea, 500 square miles is a ridiculous area for any magic. Besides PC has already said he deosn't want to use the "this half or that half" technique, I dont think he'll go for any variations of that. Too anti-climatic, methinks, and...

    Familiar Replacement

Hehe, I was chatting with purzel before he posted here and I suggested a generic "focus" first thing. Maybe now he'll actually do it. :) As a generic item, just replace "masterwork staff" with "masterwork item" or base value greater than 100 gold, incase you use a gem or something. No more...

Need help! How would YOU find an invisible tower?

Actually, I think that technique was used in the second book "The White Gryphon". :) Agghh now I want to stat that gryphon race! Thanks alot! :D Anyways, this tower has been filled with evil diviners for centuries, I wouldn't be surprised if any and all divination workarounds shown here...

    Name this race!

From their description, I would imagine they would be predisposed towards psionics in a setting where that exists. Their adaptability is intriguing, its not the same kind as a humans. They aren't much more skilled, but can alter their focus as necessary. I would let them use any non-exclusive...

    Stat Block Ranger is BORED

Video game guy right here. :) Megaman (thinking sorceror with good dex and lots of missle attacks) Simon Belmont from Castlevania Ryu from Breath of Fire (any of them) Zidane (double sword using monkey thief from final fantasy 9) Lavos is a little powerful I think, probably quasi deity. Some...

Need help! How would YOU find an invisible tower?

If your going to try looking for their trash, assuming they haven't been regularly disintigrating it or dropping it into the plane of fire, the most direct approach would be to locate "the largest concentration of humanoid waste" within the 500 mile area. Its kind of gross, but if you want...

Need help! How would YOU find an invisible tower?

Because its a much stronger spell for druids, with double the duration and 125% more area. I think thats a odd way to do it, but thats what it is. *shrug* Is this tower is even protected from true seeing? Or legend lore, shouldn't that give at least a clue? Umbrans probably got the right idea...

    Two New Language-Related Feats

Oh... duh. Hahah I think I should stop posting at 2 am. :D By "work normally" I meant give an equivalent bonus, three points to three languages. Maybe that wasn't the best way to put it, but see above excuse. :) I dont remember where that came up, I think on the rules forum a week or so ago...

    Two New Language-Related Feats

They look fine to me, personally I'd allow the normal feats to work that way regardless. But the wording can be interpreted either way, so these are good to have. I'd drop the restriction on requirements, just let it count normally. Using a feat is a lot more expensive than a few skill ranks...

    Some rules-bending feats

Yeah its cool when a weak druid gains huge strength as a bear, relying on the nature of the bear rather than their own. The idea of the feats though, is that you adapt part of your own personal nature to that of your wildshape. Anyways, you'll notice I made a bit of a compromise. One half...

    Some rules-bending feats

What if the requirement and bonus worked not off the druids total ability score, but how much higher than normal for its race? A Half Orc with Str 15 would get just as much benifit as a Halfling with Str 11... its kinda wierd but it makes a sort of sense. Plus it would effectively cap the...

    Some rules-bending feats

Thanks Mike, thats my fav as well. :) Yeah I thought the wild feats might be a little much, though you need invest in the high ability score in the first place... Well I guess +10 to strength is a bit stronger in certain forms. Whats a good way to tone it down? One half as many points? Or just...
