What are You Looking Forward To?

    D20 Modern. That's it. I don't buy many D20 books anymore.

Thunderball Rally vs. SWRev Vehicle Rules

How do the vehicle rules in these two games compare? Are they pretty much identical, except for the fact that SWRev has to scale up to include starships and things?

(Con) Toronto Get Together - ORION CONVENTION

Sorry folks. I had planned on making it, but then its my niece's one month celebration. I have to corrupt her fertile young mind with a plush Cthulhu.

    Tired of Core Covers?

I'm disappointed. I thought the guy who started this thread was just going to plug his new line of vinyl/leather/pleather/fun fur/whatever covers for the core rules.

    Dragonstar and multiple realms

I personally dislike the monolithic empire, and will change it significantly if I run it.

    Neelix ??? [enterprise] [spoilers too]

Actually, IRC the scene properly, they asked Archer about the valuables and the vault about the ship. Archer eventually said "Yes, there's a vault. Filled with gold bars." The Ferengi jumped to the conclusion he was talking about gold-pressed latinum, and said so.

    L5R classic vs. L5R d20

I recall reading a L5R->Planescape conversion floating around somewhere. Some people might enjoy seeing how the conversion the other way works. I personally think both L5R and D&D are excellent games, though I must say, I do have a fondness for 1E L5R. I like the fact you roll more dice in...

    L5R classic vs. L5R d20

To me, the real difference between Rokugan D20 and Rokugan original is how fast characters die. If you think characters should be crippled in one hit and die in two, then L5R is the game for you. I'm not bashing it. I think it captures the spirit of Chambara action flicks very nicely...

    Azathoth took Toughness?

Well, as soon as the ELH comes out, we can start the new munchkin challenge! Make a 50th level character to take on Azathoth the Faceless, one on one! Its the SAN-blasting power that'll really get D&D types, though. Currently, there are no real countermeasures to SAN loss.

Werewolf Wild West, why not Vampire Wild West?

I would start the vampires at higher-than-starting level, and make sure they all have Protean 3. Might make the campaign last longer :) Don't forget, even in 1880, Tombstone isn't a very big town. Its a few thousand people.

    WW's "Top Secret" project

D20 Vampire was explicitly mentioned, which is why I don't think its part of the "Top Secret" deal.

    WW's "Top Secret" project

From GAMA, there's a report that WW's involved in a "Top Secret" negotiation with WOTC. Now, I highly doubt that this is over Top Secret, since Top Secret isn't exactly a hot seller, nor does it have brand name recognition. I suspect its actually over Planescape. What do other people out...

    Anita Blake d20?

While Anita Blake may have some Mary Sue elements, I think the reason why the slut factor's gone up is because fans and editors have demanded it.

Real world myths and legends: Who's Epic Level?

Odysseus' bow can be simulated with a Strength Bow. If he was a high level character with a Str of 19 or 20, I wouldn't be surprised if nobody else in Greece could have strung it. As for Achilles, he had DR, but that was a special property of the well he was dipped into. Rob

Real world myths and legends: Who's Epic Level?

The Green Man is an Avatar of a Pagan nature god of your choice. Gozer the Carpathian is a demon, who may or may not have epic levels. I doubt it, though, since the Ghostbusters are definitely not Epic-level characters.

Real world myths and legends: Who's Epic Level?

I don't think Jesus, Moses, or Merlin are Epic-Level. Merlin didn't do much beyond prophesy and motivate. Jesus and Moses are probably better represented as normal humans (Expert in one case, and Aristocrat in the other), who received the Template 'Chosen of God'.

    Dragon Magazine #294

Yep. There's a reason why Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns are considered to be movie classics. The Man With No Name films are truly great flicks. Rob

    Gamer Feats [silly?]

These feats seem pretty powerful. Keeping that in mind, how about: UNWASHED: You have had more characters than baths. Benefit: Because of your nauseating odor, those within 10 feet must succeed at a Fortitude Save (DC 10+1/2 character level) or suffer a -1 circumstance penalty to all...

    ENnies 2002 Judges Selection

I'd like to be a judge, too. I could go on about my gaming qualifications, but I won't. What I do want to go on about is my surlyness, crotchetyness, skepticism, and general disinterest in the D20 market. Thus, any product that attracts my attention is a sure, standout winner. I will...
