    D&D Product Announcements

PC race with flight (Pixie) and a Defender-Striker baked in hybrid with a new Barbarian build. Count me in. Also, Powers of the Plane Below? I wonder if that means a Planes above power source book beyond that. Maybe even bizarre powers of the Far Realm lol Glad they are getting away from...

    Are Multiattacks a Problem?

My only issue with that is. 4E was a new edition. Someone forgot to check the math. The Ranger attacks for an entire round is just gonna be more effective than a barbarian attacking maybe twice a round. Oversights are going to happen.

Dragon 402 & Dungeon 193 ToC Are Up

I'm hoping for Flail Expertise = Add that you must retrain the selection or feat entirely so you can't double dip. This would rip through the fabric of space/time and give 3 years of support to a barely support weapon and really be right along WotC ally of saving design space. They'd never...

    July Updates

Big change to the Gauntlet Axe item and Spirit of Athas power.

    Warlock Update

A few extra die size increases would have been nice, but I think whatever is said they (WotC) will only change so much. They just rather create a new class or subclass, band-aid feat or class feature . Though ironically we ended up with Hexblade and Binder, which while fun, tend to under perform...

Rule of Three 6/13/2011: "semi-obscure but flavorful setting" in Dungeon and Dragon

I'm just afraid they have M. Night Shyamalan writing the stats for that book.

Multiclassing Essentials Characters with PHB1 & 2 MC Feats

Multiclassing was very different when 4E first started. Their were fewer class feats to poach, fewer feat taxes to detour PMC and YOU COULD NOT USE IMPLEMENTS. I think this last one is caps lock important. Now Multiclassing into Rogue or Fighter to pick up Surprising Charge is more worth it...

    Rule of Three 7/18/11

WotC really should have just answered the Vampire question with, "Vampires should have been a Hybrid/Multiclass only class. It's why we released those rules, because we instantly just supported the Vampire with 3 years of better material that way". Everyone on the WotC forums is whining...

    Introducing Racial Variants (again?)

For good or ill, WotC said it's our job to remove any feats that aren't useful (old weapon Expertise feats) or useless (Barreling Charge) from the selection process itself, likely because they cannot afford the time/manpower to do it themselves. That said, I was doing some thinking and I can't...

    Bladesinger Preview!

As much as I love Eladrin, I was never a fan of Dex/Int builds do to poor defenses. I hope the class gets +1 Fort/Will (I am haven't looked over the sheet myself). Other than that, I don't have anything against it particularly. Just concerned that WotC is going back and forth between extremes of...

    Arcanist playtest

I think the community and WotC will just have differing ideas on what "control" is and what a Controller is. The community largely believes that control is spreading damage and increasing damage and that a Pyromancer is always going to be a better controller than the Enchanter. WotC believes...

    Introducing Racial Variants (again?)

As someone who has a level 16 eladrin thief and 10th level eladrin bard in LFR, I can say that I've never seen, or have myself taken one of those feats. I just designate my character as a Moon elf. So this change up sounds promosing. However, a lot of what WotC has done in the last year has...

    Arcanist playtest

In LFR I've personally seen Flaming Sphere and Stinking Cloud dominate encounters. They're very easy to build around. Having not read the article, I'm just glad to hear that it's got a lot of nerfs. Wizards always struck me as more competent strikers than some striker classes (and sadly still...

    Introducing Racial Variants (again?)

Yeah, this is why I put an "again?" at the end of my thread title. Several races (most PHB1 races) seem to have ended up with various feats that allude to or represent a racial offshoot either via racial feats or bloodline feats. Eladrin are a perfect example of this. They received Sun Elf and...

    Introducing Racial Variants (again?)

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4ex/20110715 The Neverwinter book do out next month introduces racial variants to several races. These are kind of like choosing a different Genasi manifestation (though it doesn't look like you can accrue more) and is both an "about time" and...

    Essentials multiclassing playtest?

Fortunately, not being on a proper computer until I get mine fixed I can't check the original article. However, I specifically remember on the Warlock and Rogue playtest articles that there was a deadline for feedback on the article. After that deadline I figure it's gotta take around a month or...

    WotC RPG Dept. Re-Orgs

To clear up what I meant about Schwalb's work. I was speaking in mechanical terms before fluff. Regarding Klaus' input into the book, He's already given a detailed discussion on what he's worked on and what WotC wanted him to do in a previous thread (it's on ENworld somewhere). It's really from...

    WotC RPG Dept. Re-Orgs

What bothers me in all of this? That Robert J, Schwalb is writing 75% of the Elemental sourcebook. Talk about a downer. I hope the work Baker did was to make Schwalb's work actually fit in D&D 4E instead of us getting another awful Heroes of Shadow.
