Argh....most everyone beat me to it, but nerdnyc has games running
all over the boroughs -- they also have an open-house-gaming
day monthly or bi-monthly, that you can sign up for, IIRC.
I currently run a 3.5 game in downtown Manhattan on the weekends.
Let me know when you're in town @...
To reinforce my counters (from Fiery Dragon), I cut out squares of
foam board and paste them to it. While good on their own, the
foam board gives them some substance on the battlemat.
Hi all,
Inspired by the CR/EL construction tables in Grim Tales, I wanted to
create some custom spells. In an old issue of Dragon, just prior
to 3rd Edition, they had an article on creating new spells and
mathematically assigning them a level.
For instance (not actual numbers) :
You want to...
Does the Gamma World d20 add in the "wahoo" factor?
I wouldn't mind getting both books -- one for the good rules and
good d20 integration, and the other for Mutant Bunnies and
Rakunks and 8-eyed three-armed mutie-goodness!

A most excellent proposal -- if I didn't have gems for eyes, I would
cry for joy.
Perhaps, after a fashion, we can take down that pesky Vecna -- two-bit lich doesn't deserve god-hood.
My deepest sympathies! ;-)
I worked for a company headquartered in Burlington, MA
and it's a one-horse town. There's the mall, which
is huge, but not much else -- though if you're looking for
computer game/bookstores, there's the place. There's a "Legal
Seafood" restaurant in the Mall which...
Grim Tales
I'd recommend the appendix of Grim Tales, which
allows you to figure out why a creature has a certain
CR and how to upgrade/modify it with whatever you want.
Create kobolds with haste 5X a day ability.
Poison spiting ogres, incorporeal worgs, and
the charts will let you figure out...
Curse Denny and his supernatural talents!
I bought this last night and have been *consumed* by it. Beautiful artwork...a !!working!! gatehouse.
I put my original Castleworks Gate house next to (what I've
started so far of ) the Ultimate Castleworks Gate House and
_no_ comparison.

Actually saw a commercial on TV for it this weekend -- it did look
cool! They show you pulling characters(miniatures) out from
different time periods to wage war. On the list...
Rats! I read :
>Perhaps Highfolk, The Valley of the Mage, Vesve Forest and The Yatils?
as
>Perhaps Highfolk, The Valley of the Mage, Vesve Forest or The Yatils?
Sorry, my bad!
What else is open?
Love those charts in the back.
Used to love making random dungeons for characters -- they
never made sense ("What's this 10X10 room doing here along
a corridor that ends in a cul-de-sac?") but
we didn't ask questions back then.
Can the players leave at any time or are they somehow stuck
there? Couldn't they, say, explore section A, then head back
to town, stock up and then go after B. Then the
wizard could bone up on spells, research, etc.
Or am I missing something here?
You can try one thread here and in his signature are links to all
the other classes.
Very interesting stuff -- I wonder how it balances?
If anyone has time (I don't), maybe they can try Upper_Krust's
Grim Tales/Immortals calculations and compare the 2 together.
