Why would your wizard ever bother getting Meteor Swarm?

Irresistable flame is pretty sweet for fire mages at least. I already house-ruled Meteor storm to have a sustain standard: attack again (up to 3 times) rule since it stacks up so poorly with Astral Storm and Legion's Hold.

    Vorpal Crits

They still are the most lethal crit weapon. 6d12 with exploding d12s is strictly better than plain 6d12. Let me reiterate - vorpal was BAD in 3e, overpriced and of limited utility. Vorpal is amazing and hands down the best in 4e. I think your fondness of snickersnack, off goes the head, is...

    Off-hand weapons. Meaningless?

The free switch between wield and hold for one. You can hold something in your other hand no matter what, but wield is never properly defined. Rogue powers say that you get a bonus when you wield a weapon, but as written, that would always benefit you, even if you attack with a weapon in your...

    Vorpal Crits

I think it's far better as the best damage enhancement you can get in 4e than the marginal enhancement it was in 3e. If you want to bring back the flavor, you'll probably have to make it weaker on per hit basis since vorpal is just that good already. The extra x[W] die is just needless.

    Off-hand weapons. Meaningless?

Shortbow has the small property, which means halflings can use it.

How to rule out convincing people of something?

You're right, I think it depends more on the way the players go about it. To me, diplomacy implies a more reasoned case based debate, whereas bluff involves cases where the PCs have no real proof and they have to improvise to make things seem believable. A skill challenge where both skills are...

How to rule out convincing people of something?

Diplomacy is probably the defacto skill you should be using here, flat DC against a difficulty to persuade somebody to come over to your side. From the PHB: You can influence others with your tact, subtlety, and social grace. Make a Diplomacy check to change opinions, to inspire good will, to...

    Vorpal Crits

No, it is not, the least you could do is not spread misinformation. The only backing to that statement is the half-assed legalese. If you take everything at face value, what you suggest still won't work.

Why is Firestorm the best 19th level control spell?

While firestorm gives clerics a good control option, we have to ask, does it make the Cleric a better controller? The answer is no since the Wizard has more control spells across the levels. Where the Cleric is pretending to be a controller once a day, the Wizard is the controller all the time...

    Vorpal Crits

Quite simply, that option has no rule support at all, but is a nice houserule option if you want to make vorpal crits more deadly. It would be pointless to ask, since it definitely won't be the correct option according to the rules, but it's not a bad idea if your players demand it.

    Haggling: rules, guidelines, suggestions?

But Grog doesn't take everything the guys owns after knocking him out, cause Grog has standards. Grog sounds like a man of real honor and integrity, I would vote Grog into office anytime.

    Off-hand weapons. Meaningless?

Yes, that was what I was arguing for, that a rogue bugbear with a broadsword and dagger can apply his rogue powers with the dagger. Your original post implied that he can't. I have no idea where the whole broadsword for rogue powers just because you have a dagger in your offhand interpretation...

    Haggling: rules, guidelines, suggestions?

If his players would have fun doing it, then they should do it. Fun is subjective.

Selling items : illogical rule ?

@Gnomeworks Right, so in that example, to get the price of a platemail, you have to determine how common iron is in the region, if local iron mines have been taken over by the goblins or not, how many skilled crafters there are competing for the same market, how big said market is, etc. Then...

    Vorpal Uber Weapons?!?

Because a vorpal axe or non-vorpal hammer can still do more damage and vorpal is only there at level 30? Not to mention completely different feats and stat array to take advantage of heavyblades.

    Off-hand weapons. Meaningless?

Right, so if they attack with the lightblade in their offhand, they can use that lightblade to trigger lightblade req powers. This is true no matter what. If they attack with the broadsword in their mainhand, they can't. This is contendable at this point. The other interpretation is that as...

Selling items : illogical rule ?

Hm, I think it would require quite a systems overhaul. First you would have to determine what the layout of said world was and how dense population is and how good transportation is. Then how common adventurers are. Then you would have to determine the relative prices of goods and services so...

    Off-hand weapons. Meaningless?

Right, maybe by raw it works that way and rangers have a whole list of powers they can't use. Maybe rogues get better at their mainhand weapon for having a dagger in their offhand, or hit harder when they have a shuriken to threaten with. Or they actually get worse with daggers when they...

    Vorpal Crits

Hahaha, ok. Man, that sounds stupid when you say it like that. I agree, errata for clarification needs to come out soon.
