    Monk's Belt help

But it does not specifically mention making armors of several dragons. So who is guessing at designer intent now ;)

    D&D 3E/3.5 Reworking 3e armour; need help!

A point soooo many people seem to ignore completely. And yes, the game is very different if you use that 25pt buy compared to roll 4d6, 32pt buy and so on. Good suggestions on the movement thing for medium armors. I think I'm going to use that.

    Monk's Belt help

From this one http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/specialMaterials.html Full quote. See the bits about what armor can be made. That states that you need a dragon four size categories larger than the breastplate armor you want to make. Four size categories larger than...

I got Beholder info from the MM "wink wink nodge nodge knowaddaImean, come again ahh?

Straight from Contingency spell describtion in the SRD. So that Wizard ain't going to have more than one contingencied spell at any time.

    Monk's Belt help

Which of course is very reasonable. But the special materials section of the SRD states that a medium sized one comes from a colossal dragon (and makes larger dragon hide breastplates and full plates non-existant). It also means that an armorsmith can apperantly buy a colossal dragon skin for...

    Beneath the surface of character

I think (and have played with several) that many players don't really want to get into such character depths. In my experience about a third of the players I have known care mostly about personal power, killing things and taking their stuff. When faced with moral questions and roleplaying...

    Monk's Belt help

The whole exercise wouldn't change much by a starting at 16 wisdom. Maybe it was not clear why I short-changed str, dex and cha. Str and dex are just not important when you expect to spend the majority of your time as a bear, lion, rhino etc. They all have great str and good dex scores. Even...

    Monk's Belt help

And that’s pretty strange don't you think? Rather contra dictionary with the special materials section. Except of course if the going rate for killing a great wyrm is a lot cheaper than I would think. In fact it’s laughable. Just how many colossal dragons will a given world have. Enough to...

Can a goblin riding an ogre use Mounted Combat to defend the ogre?

It must be implecit that the Ogre can only serve as a mount as long as it is completely subservant to the goblins commands. The mounted combat feat must be the riders ability to anticipate attacks and make the mount move accordingly. I think it will reguire a lot of training to impart such a...

    Monk's Belt help

I totally agree that the druid is to good in its current incarnation. Especially with natural spell, wild armors and whatever other items it takes to power up the wildshaped forms. I don't really get the headband thing. The value of the headband is based on the value that it would have for a...

    Monk's Belt help

Thats no reason to let an item be cheap or too good. You don't price magical items for the value they have for people who could or would not use them. The price must be fair exactly for those characters/classes who will benefit the most.

    Monk's Belt help

I did adress the touch AC mistake already, it is as pointed out 19 in humanoid or wildshaped form. Thats still 9 points better. But the animated shield is cheaper. The Wild one will provide 1 less AC for the same price. As for the dragonhide breastplate. Thats straight from the SRD. So our...

    Monk's Belt help

Ahh. Good call about the shield and touch AC. I'll edit that out. If you read closely I did take into account the possibility of some wonky material breastplate. The main points still stand. Druid1 will have the (slightly better) AC and a far better touch AC for less gold. A 11th level druid...

    Monk's Belt help

Well I guess I wasn’t really finished posting on the subject anyway :) Can’t really show a character from a real game as no one in my games fit the bill. But I think the following would more or less be what I would expect from a standard non-power gamer. I’m assuming 28 pt buy, a starting...

I stole my encounter from a Stargate episode and my players liked it

For some obscure reason Groundhog day ís one of my favorite movies. Just makes me feel good every time. Can't really point out why.

    Monk's Belt help

KarinsDad you seem to ignore the "fringe benefits" that comes with maximizing one stat. That high wisdom not only provides AC for the druid, but increases will save, spell DC's, several skills (like listen and spot) and spells per day. Thats not trivial bonuses. The touch AC thing is huge too...

    Monk's Belt help

So does most other classes. I could as easily have suggested a Belt of mighty defense that gives str bonus +1 to AC. Or tough defense, charmed defense... Well you get my point. The question remains is an item giving any stat bonus +1 to AC with the same limitations as the monks belt is fair and...

    Monk's Belt help

I think that my main issues with the belt are the variable bonus and that IMC the belt would meld with the animal form. If rings and bracers will change form to fit a bear, surely a belt can too. Or you could simply make a bracer/ring with the same powers. I'll grant that in games where the...
