Goodbye Haste! Hello New Mandatory Spell!

You could call it Power Attack.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Uncanny Dodge = Immune to Feints?

I'd have to agree, especially with the plethora of classes that have access to Uncanny Dodge in 3.5. Barbarian, Rogue, Monk, Ranger...did I miss any? Anyway, that's 1/3 of the Core classes!IMO, giving all these classes immunity to the Feint maneuver does not seem fair or balanced.

    Bonus types explanation needed

First of all, thanks for clearing up my question. New rule, same effect. (wipes bead of sweat off forehead in relief) Second, check out the Destana in the Arms and Equipment Guide. They pretty much *did* start a third category of armor bonus there. Its not a helmet, but it kinda opens that...

Spell Focus - Still Worth It?

My 2cp My 2cp... I did not consider SF a must-have in 3.0, but then again I favor Buffing, Movement, and No-Save spells and *really* don't like to limit myself to a particular school of magic. I play my wizards as generalists and tacticians. For example, I always figured I could deal more...

    Bonus types explanation needed

Potential Can of Worms I'm hoping this turns out to be a stupid question, but considering how bow + arrow enhancement got nerfed in 3.5... In 3.5, do the Enhancement bonuses from armor and shield still stack?

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Spell books & Blessed Book

My gut reaction in this case would be to go with the higher cost (100 gp), which is still a price break from 3.0, until errata says otherwise.

    D&D 3E/3.5 The 3.5 sai - a piercing and/or bludgeoning weapon?

That's all according to which end of the sai is used in the strike. With the sai flipped in, a strike with the pommel (using English terminology for clarity) would likely do exactly what you described. With the sai flipped out, however, a stabbing strike with the *pointy bit of metal* would...

    D&D 3E/3.5 The 3.5 sai - a piercing and/or bludgeoning weapon?

Just to put in my 2cp as another Kobudo practitioner... I don't know what the criteria are for a weapon crossing over categories, but to me the sai seems a good candidate. Before they were ever used as weapons, the sai were used as a farming implement to pierce the ground. As a practitioner...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Why be a Fighter? (3.5)

IMHO, D&D has always been a Fighter's game, even back to the original D&D and the AD&D editions. Anyway, with 3.5's expansion of weapon specialization, there is no way I would consider the current iteration of the Fighter a weak class.

    Any Free d20 Modern Adv?

Just finished revising my own d20 Modern site, and have begun to post adventures. If you're interested, check out http://www.aldenminor.com

    Undead and Wounding

To be more specific, the player with the axe of wounding thought differently. :D I was a naysayer.

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Ranger

My first suggestion would be d10 hit die. Their spells are part of the whole "skirmisher" image, so a Ranger without them would probably need to be a little tougher. IMO.

    Potions and Crazyness

Wow, I can't imagine why someone would want to load up on temporary items. I'm the Arcane Craftsman in my group and I smack around my fellow players when they ask me to waste my XP and time to create temporary items. But, I digress... I agree with Shard that your first avenue should be...

    Cost of feat-embedding in items

Arms and Equipment addresses this issue in one of its sidebars. I believe it suggested a base of 10,000 gp, plus an additional 5,000 gp per prerequisite feat. So, as an example, while Power Attack would be estimated around 10,000, Cleave would be estimated around 15,000 gp and Great Cleave...

Best use of Heighten Spell feat

The first thing to my mind is how it can be useful in Crafting Items. Heighten Spell is a prereq for Eyes of Charming - probably a little out of your price range at the moment, but something to save up to create if you have/take Craft Wondrous Item. Heightened Wands would also be useful, in...

D&D 3E/3.5 Regenerate is useless in 3E. Why does it exist?

Well...Since Raise Dead doesn't restore lost body parts, could a Regenerate be used to allow the corpse to be Raised?

    Ring of Sustenance

"Gamebalancing" was a good way to put it. I think the delay is simply for game balance purposes. Basically, you can't just wear the ring when it is convenient - you have to wear it all the time to get the benefit. You can't just put the ring on when you feel hungry or thirsty. You can't...

    Value of a Spell book?

Yeah, Andargor, the Mastering a Spellbook section is what I was thinking of. Didn't realize that was specific to FR. One thing is still confusing me, though. Is the intent of your message that a spellbook composed by someone else is *always* considered borrowed?

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Things I wish they would have fixed

Wow, that came across as if you have a real problem with clerics being anything but band-aid factories and second-rate fighters.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] The New Charge *sigh*

Re: Re: evil dm moment Though I used barbarian in my example, the insane charger in my current party is a monk. Because of the effects of this tactic - namely receiving repeated beat-downs - I started calling him Le Ming, Master of the Lemming Fist. :p
