if you have the "automatic quicken spell" epic feat and you create an item with a spell you automaticly quicken how would you calculate the cost? you're sort of appling a metamagic feat without the extra levels

i've been looking at the epic skills and found that several skills have no epic effect (use magic device,profession, move silently, knowledge, jump, intimidate) and it seems to me any skill at such high levels should have extraordinery effects. have you any interesting effects for the missing...

i agree this varient is too powerful but i like the idea of getting more out of your metamagic feats... what if you limit it to "less" problematic feats and prohibit its use on twin, or empower. maybe you can only weaken the spell by 1 or 2 levels, maybe the weakening costs you 2 castor levels...

wouldnt you go for undead bane daggers to compansate for the loss of SA? and improved initiative to ensure flat footed enemies for the first round?

yeah many comp games do that too. my interpitation was always that you get spells per day and require rest before you can memorize them so a ring of sustenance will give you the rest you need in 2 hours but you cant exceed your spells per day using it. bear in mind though this is just MHO anf...

that was my feeling... however, i always had a bit of a problem with magical ammunition being not reusable. it just doesnt seem fair compaired to a magical weapon of a permanent nature. then again as you mentioned this version is no good either. am i the only one with a problem?

would you allow an item, say a quiver of arrows, to have a command activated once per day use of the spell greater magic weapon? if i calculated corectly (which if far from assured) then for a +1 bonus for 5 hours would cost ~6000 and for a +2 bonus for 9 hours would cost ~10000 ect. does this...

a friend of mine calculated that damage wise TWF starts to catch up with two handed weapons only if the targets AC is lower then 13... i didnt check it 'cos he's smarter then me :)
