Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

Hi Marty Lund. I've already explained that it's not "WTF i forgot how to trip" effect. Because you really cant forget it, it's just the enemy already knows that 'trick' and that using it another time on him will likely fail. it's just the metagame on it.

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

In the 3.5 Bo9S. The maneuvers are divided into three categories: Boosts, Attack, and Stances. the one you meant are boosts. boosts augment a normal attack.

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

Just to be clear to those who still thinks that encounter powers are not good. Encounter Powers are good, BUT not for all classes. This boils down to variety in gameplay. Vancian, aedu, point system, etc. explanation for 5 minute resting: you really don't rest in the real sense of 'resting'...

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

I read the Tome of Battle: Book of Nine Swords again (this is a 3.5 book, mind you). the three classes presented here (crusader, swordsage, and warblade), referred as maneuver adepts, use a "spell-like" combat system called 'maneuvers', aka 'blade magic'. it said here in the book that at first...

    Rule-of-Three: 06/19/2012

New Rule of Thirds I like that they really tried to make each domain cleric feel its domain. not just a standard chainmail with mace type. i see a valid stealth cleric here with light armor and a dagger. about 3. im not sure about facing rules. i thought it was understood that all creatures...

D&D 4E I would rather not have 4e combat "powers" in D&D Next

another 4e hater. can you please just stay silent with your 'opinions'. its annoying. zzz It is also annoying and not acceptable to tell people to "stay silent." Either post something relevant to the discussion, and politely so, or stay out of it.

Latest L&L as of June 11

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Monster Design in D&D Next) I think no one noticed this on the Wizards site. I really like their clear transparency to the fans here about how they are approaching to monster design. They really are listening to us and is...

What is a Wound? An attempt to bridge the divide.

Please take time to read Pathfinder's Vigor Points and Wound Points alternate system found in Ultimate Combat. This is what DnDNext needs. but i dont agree that it should be the standard default option since HP is too easy to understand and track. THe Wound Point system is a bit complicated...

Should Assassin be theme or class?

    I think so too, strongly.

Should Assassin be theme or class?

Coming from the thread about Rangers and Paladins, what do you think about Assassins? I only opened this thread because I am a hardcore player of Elder Scrolls, Oblivion and Skyrim. In these games, the Assassin's Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, consists of assassins of different classes. For...

What does a paladin do (or should be doing)?

Correct. Who are we, especially the PALADIN haters, to say that IT SHOULD NOT BE a class. If you don't like it to the guts or something, then don't use the paladin at all. It doesn't mean since the haters will strike the paladin down, the paladin loyalists cannot use it. Accept it, no use...

Reasons to have paladins and rangers as classes

but still, you are still on the losing side since paladins are definitely IN the core class.

Reasons to have paladins and rangers as classes

You mentioned that PALADINS do not have any variations at all? Please read Pathfinder's Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic splat books. You will find Paladin's having the default archetype, then the following new archetypes: APG: Divine Defender, Hospitaler, Sacred...

Reasons to have paladins and rangers as classes

Since you admitted that you are a 3.5 player, please don't judge the Paladin quickly because 4e remade it from the ground up. 4e made him into a 'Paladin', not a Fighter/Cleric.

What does a paladin do (or should be doing)?

Has anyone of you have actually played 4e. That's what they did to the paladin, they build it from the ground up in that edition. Hence, the total uniqueness of the class, unlike 3.5 which sucks.

    How should humans be human?

If you think it through, you clearly know that the fantasy races don't exist. Of course their characteristics are borrowed from humans, hence the term demi-humans. Dwarves are the hardy side of humans, while elves are the elegant side.

    How should humans be human?

Why would you get tired? The reason elves and dwarves were born is because Tolkien conceived them from Humans. Humans are the reason why other fantasy races were born.

    6-5 Rule of Three

paladin is never a weird subclass. if clerics are god's servants, paladins are god's weapons.

    6-5 Rule of Three

To all paladin haters, you are dead wrong!!! Booyah!! (THIS INCLUDES THOSE PEOPLE WHO INSIST THEY BE THEMES OR A SUBCLASS FOR FIGHTERS OR CLERICS)

Smite as the signature move of Paladins.
