How to Tell a GM You're Not Having Fun?

If just saying to your DM what you said here isn't adequate, go with plan B (Which kind of agrees with ccs and disagrees with TwoSix). It might be a good idea to just walk face first - roleplaying your characters but not doing any pixelbitching - into whatever meatgrinder the DM has set, and...

D&D 5E Thoughts on this weapon feat

The main problem with any weapon feat, is it makes it so much harder to find shoes.

D&D 5E Level 6+ bladesingers: what’s your best melee options?

Aha, but you have made a classic blunder. You assume that I accept your lack of acceptance!

Why is my NPC Wizard cursed with immortality?

He offended the God of Love by spurning his true love to pursue power. Now he is cursed to live until he finds it again. Which gets more difficult as he becomes more decrepit with age.

D&D General Kender PC, Yes or No?

We seem to have gone from "I would/would not allow kender" to "I would not allow kender and you are a bad person if you ask to play one" rather quickly.

D&D General Kender PC, Yes or No?

"It's a race one very small step down from Jill's stalker X making lewd tongue & hand signals across the table at her." Is that a reference I should recognize?

D&D General Kender PC, Yes or No?

"If the distinction of kender is so important that halfling isn't good enough for someone the reason is generally because they wanted the shied of "I'm playing a kender to defend their behavior" " And the fact that you wouldn't allow that, says something about your table expectations and your...

D&D General Kender PC, Yes or No?

I begin to think an equally illuminating question might be "Would you play a game with a DM who disallowed kender?"

    D&D 5E How to balance a flaw?

All 5E characters have a flaw table to choose from. They don't get a free feat for doing so. They may however get inspiration for playing into it. I am reminded of an old Champions/Hero system adage: "A Disadvantage, that does not cause you any disadvantage, is not worth points".

D&D General Kender PC, Yes or No?

Of course I would let you play a kender! I would also let the other PCs murder your kender without (out of game) repercussion if they get fed up with you. Roleplay however you want, as long as you are prepared to accept the consequences gracefully.

Do You Consider GMing to Be Hard Work?

Some DMs are do it because they love everything about the the process. Some are DMs just because no-one else will do it. Some enjoy running the game, but hate the prep and bookkeeping of world building/maintenance. Some love the intricacies of world building but find actually trying to run...

D&D 5E Level 6+ bladesingers: what’s your best melee options?

Blue That is a well reasoned analysis, but it makes an incorrect assumption. You assume something that I did not state; that you should use your spells indiscriminately and then go into melee when you have run out. I never made "Case A". You should use them just as judiciously as a "regular"...

I want smaller, leaner core books.

I'm not sure. When I started, I considered the experience much closer to acting out what I read in LOTR than I did to our 6 hour Risk marathons.

I want smaller, leaner core books.

True! And the novel industry is doing great too. They can be pretty long, I hear. I mean, as long as we're comparing apples to things-that-are-definitely-not-apples.

D&D 5E Level 6+ bladesingers: what’s your best melee options?

To make a less offhand remark, I think the strength of Bladesingers is the ability to contribute to a parties combat strength AFTER all of their spells are expended. Before that point, they should be played as a wizard and stay out of melee at all! After the spells are fired off however, when a...

My novel is nearing completion, finally!

Well I haven't read it, or heard of it, and am not an author. But this is the internet, so I guess I should tell you everything you did wrong and how I would do it much better. Part 1 of 9: Why I Feel Entitled to an Opinion Even Though I Wasn't Asked ... (Just kidding! Congratulations!)
