D&D 5E How to balance a flaw?

All 5E characters have a flaw table to choose from. They don't get a free feat for doing so.

They may however get inspiration for playing into it.

I am reminded of an old Champions/Hero system adage: "A Disadvantage, that does not cause you any disadvantage, is not worth points".
