FADED GLORY: The Black Eyes of the Demon Scorpion (FINISHED!)

Sorry it wasn't more successful. It sounds as if the fates conspired against you in your house hunting. And, again, sorry about your father-in-law. I'll be thinking about you and your wife during what has to be a difficult time. You and your wife would be welcome in Rock Hill during any...

    $240 dollars worth of puddin'

"I know what you're thinking. Barry and Levon, where'd you get $240? Shhhhh. . . Well, don't you worry your pretty little head about that, baby." One of the funniest sketches ever.

FADED GLORY: The Black Eyes of the Demon Scorpion (FINISHED!)

Giant scorpions are the new chocolate lab retriever. And we haven't moved just yet. We're packing, with a yard sale on Saturday. We're not moving until the end of the month. What did your wife think of Charlotte?

FADED GLORY: The Black Eyes of the Demon Scorpion (FINISHED!)

Yeah Henry! I'm loving the story hour, even as this was the part where Maxian was up against a +45 grapple check or something similarly ridiculous. Damn scorpions.

FADED GLORY: The Black Eyes of the Demon Scorpion (FINISHED!)

Rock! I've finally gotten a minute to catch up on the updates. They are great as always, Henry. One minor quibble, though. Maxian volunteered to take the random legionaire's place in testing the traps in the "pillars of fire" room. I had pretty good saves and figured it would be cool from a...

    Could Ep III beat Titanic?

The numbers I posted were for US domestic grosses. Titanic still KILLS all others world-wide, though, beating out RotK by 600 million dollars or so. Stupid Leo. . .

    Defining a decade with a song: 1980s

Looks like it's the Eagles, followed by Michael Jackson, the Pink Floyd. http://askmen.com/toys/top_10_60/67b_top_10_list.html or www.riaa.com

    Defining a decade with a song: 1970s

Now, if you disqualified any song that has been used in a television commercial, would you have any songs left? I ask because when The_Shaman mentioned "Rock 'N Me" (which is a good song), I immediately thought of that commerical where the amazingly white guys are camping outside playing...

    Defining a decade with a song: 1990s

They are a group I want not to like, but do anyway. And why do I feel like I am in the movie/book High Fidelity?

    Defining a decade with a song: 1980s

Henry's probably right here. How can you not pick something from the best selling album of all time? (or did Garth Brooks or The Eagle's Greatest Hits pass it?) Nakia -- who really needs a four or five song loop.

    Defining a decade with a song: 1980s

Yes! A nice choice. If the museum is not in the US, I'll choose The Police. Although my favorite is probably "Message in a Bottle."

    Defining a decade with a song: 1980s

Sure. Expect the D&D crowd to pick the song with the video featuing a bard and a dwarf. A song that is now STUCK IN MY HEAD! AGGGGHHH!

    Defining a decade with a song: 1990s

I'm so torn on Couting Crows. On one hand, I think the are pretty derivative -- Adam Durwitz wishes he could be Van Morrison (and thus more funky). On the other, their songs stick in your head -- in a good way. "Long December" is a good song, I know almost all the words, yet I don't own a...

    Defining a decade with a song: 1970s

This is the hardest one of the decades for me. Do you go with the big rock bands of the 1970's (in which case I'd have to pick some Zeppelin, maybe "Stairway" or "Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid" -- the later simply for it's opening guitar riff, which just screams "ROCK!" and sets the stage for...

    Defining a decade with a song: 1980s

If it's a museum in the U.S., I'd use Springsteen's "Born in the USA". Superficially, it's patriotic, but it's really a protest song. And it has it's own bit of history, as Bruce stopped Regan from using it in campaign rallies in 1984.

    Defining a decade with a song: 1990s

This is my vote as well, as it symbolically deomonstrates a serious shift in popular music. Of course, the 1990's were HUGE for hip-hop as well, so I'd be equally happy with something like 'Ain't Nothing But a G Thang" by Dr. Dre or "Fight the Power" by Public Enemy. The later is the better...

    Could Ep III beat Titanic?

RotK did 377 million in the U.S. I bet RotS will beat that. Ep III does not have the "girly" draw of Titanic. Women/girls are not the primary demographic for Star Wars, but there were 13 year old girls going to see Titanic over and over again. Plus, Titanic actually increased it's ticket...

    Could Ep III beat Titanic?

Given the consistently good reviews of RotS, does it have a chance of knocking Titanic off of the top grossing film spot? Will enough people go see it enough times? It's hurt by being the third film in a trilogy, I know, so I kinda doubt it could pull it off. But here's hoping. For...
