How Many Movies In How Many Days?

His Girl Friday! I was wondering when you'd start hitting classics. I'd personally have gone with Hatari! for H, but His Girl Friday is a load of fun.

Hatari! is, alas, not on my shelf. The project is limited to DVDs that I already possess.

The Iron Giant is up now. I just realized that both of Brad Bird's films belong to the same letter. Interesting. Intriguing. Illuminating. Idiosyncratic.

My Fair Lady and Out Of Sight are now up. Tomorrow will be Peking Opera Blues.

Mrs. Barsoom comes back in seven days, and there's still nine letters (assuming I just skip Q). May be a big movie weekend. It's a fun project, at any rate.

Just got caught up on your reviews. I'm glad you reviewed Out of Sight which is one of my favorites. Sonderburgh is a master.

Just a quick comment on your review of The Killer. It reminded me of one of my favorite books -- Camus' The Plague. Except in the novel, it's not weasels, it's rats. The rats literally and metaphorically corrupt the city, spreading death, distrust, and hopelessness. One of the themes of the book is denial of the corruption, refusal to face the problem. One of the city officials early on utters "There are no rats here!" which, of course, leads to disaster. And, in true Camus fashion, the hero (a doctor) is the one who stands and does his job in the face of this overwhelming task, even if, in the end, he does not affect all that much (objective) change.

Anyway, I'm still enjoying your reviews. I think I may drop a link to them in my own (not all that impressive) blog.
