Anyone got a copy of Timpani?

Trying again as I'm hoping to work on this after the kids go to bed! Thanks, Mark

Anyone got a copy of Timpani?

Looks like I'm going to be playing in a 3.5 game. I used to use Timpani as an xls character sheet, but it looks like the site it was on is now gone. Anyone have a copy? (And yes, it was/is shareware, so no copyright problems as far as I know.) Mark

    Implement/Shaman questions

Looking at playing a shaman and a bunch of questions came up Does a totem require it be held in hand to use? If so where does it say that? If if so, what's up with the long spear prof? Seems odd... How does the spirit companion (hereafter SC) move? Can it move over pits? Water? Can it...

Sorcerous Blade Channeling and basic melee attacks

I've ruled "no" in a one-shot I ran, but I could see it either way.

    Bloodied vs. Dying

I believe that RAW you can be bloodied and dieing. As statuses are by default independent (you can be slowed and immobilized for example), I don't see any other way to read it. That said, I also believe that wasn't the intent (just cause it breaks a few things) and rule that they are...

Healing word, NPCs and the like

Thanks! I knew that rule, but forgot. Wow, that's going to actually make an encounter I have planned quite a bit tougher.

Healing word, NPCs and the like

I know that only some baddies have the ability to take a second wind. But what do we do when an NPC (on either side) gets tagged by a healing word or some other power that requires a surge be spent? I'm currently going with "if you get a second wind you really have 1 healing surge per day and...

poll on Expertise...Forked Thread: Expertise justification?

Wah! My opinion isn't there. :] It's a math hack that's not a bad idea, but implemented horribly. It becomes a "must have feat" that is strictly better than many others (though it stacks with them). It also discourages characters taking more than one weapon/implement (say a STR/WIS cleric)...

    HELP! Avenger issue

My 2 cents, not having seen one played, is that getting ride of that bonus AC feat for avengers might well solve all the problems. It just isn't needed and gives a bit too much bang for the buck at higher levels. Taking hide is just too much from a stats viewpoint, so anyone doing that is...

    EPG Excerpt: Rituals

I really like the mark. Powerful (maybe too powerful if the +1 bonus works when your power affects other people), but nicely done. What do you give up for a dragon mark, do we know yet?

    Sequestering Strike Instakill?

My house rule is to say you can only teleport people to unsafe spaces you could slide them to. So I'd allow the save either way, but if they fall, they fall.

    Change to Tempests and Doubleswords?

I'm hopeful it is errata. Tempest is just too nice with double weapons counting as off-hand... Mark

    Expertise justification?

    Exactly.

    Avenging Echo Question

I'd say not, given the wording of the power. It says any creature that does X or Y or Z. My reading would be that once it affected someone that's it. Mark

    Disruptive Strike Question

It's really good, but not huge. As you have to declare it before you know the result of the attack, you probably only change the outcome of the attack 1 time in 3 or 4 that you hit. So maybe (say) once every 6 fights. But it also does damage as an interrupt on an event that happens in 99% of...

    spirit companion defenses?

Hi all, Sorry if this has been asked (google search turned up nothing, so maybe it's just a stupid question). What is a spirit companions defenses when it is targeted? Further, as I read it, it is immune to area attacks right? Thanks, Mark

House Rule - level bonus added to damage?

Because encounters get boring after a while. I ran what turned into a 3 hour fight a few weeks ago. Yes, people were on the slow side. But it ran for around 15 rounds (it was really 2 fights that got combined into one). Really became a grind. Mark

House Rule - level bonus added to damage?

Realism isn't too much of a factor. A level 1 stock wizard does 2d4+5 damage. A level 30 stock does 4d4+9(int)+6(item) and probably +3 due to some feat (not sure there is one for force attacks). So 9 vs. 25. Plus the 30th level wizard will be throwing a bunch of encounters or dailies before...
