How do they seem to do compared to other classes at low, mid and high levels? Any "must-have" feats? Power recommendations? Any other tips on building or playing one?
Thanks in advance for any advice! :)
Are there any spells anywhere that can be cast on a weapon or maybe a creature to convert all damage inflicted by the weapon or creature to nonlethal damage for the duration of the spell?
I have the one by TheRaven and stephanh in Plucker format. It's not completely perfect (a few table alignment glitches and the like) but has been handy for me.
I'd be interested in hearing what Plane Sailing has, if it isn't in iSilo format.
Are age categories listed in any of the books for orcs and goblinoids? I'm specifically interested in hobgoblins since I have a player who may be playing one in an upcoming game.
A player of mine rolled-up some great stats for an upcoming game I am running:
17 16 15 15 13 4
Okay, they're all great except for the 4. ;) He's struggling what to do with the 4 stat, however. He was leaning towards running a human sorcerer and putting the 17 in CHA and the 16 into INT...
Gnome for the CON bonus and bonus to save DCs on illusions. Whisper Gnomes would be even better. Halflings would be good as well for the DEX and skill bonuses.
I was thinking it would be funny to have a sorcerer character that dump-statted INT. The idea of a half-orc (yeah, yeah, I know) sorcerer with a 6 INT sounds really funny to me for some reason. Scary, too. :p
I was thinking that some of the ECL +1 races are underpowered, and was thinking of requiring a mandatory flaw if one of these races was taken instead of the ECL +1. Specifically, I think the planetouched races from FR and Hobgoblins are underpowered for their ECL.
What do the rest of you think...
If you compare a elves vs half-elves, the half-elf compares much more favorably if a martial class is being played (since the free weapon proficiencies of the elf become irrelevant). Mechanically speaking, I'd much rather play a half-elf meele class than an elf: no CON penalty, and favored...
Thanks everyone; this thread has made fun reading! The suggestions I'm taking is to have the players create their characters together as a group, and to have them come-up with their reasons by stating why they volunteer for the call for explorers to explore the ruins of the unknown race.
Oh...
I'll be starting a new campaign soon, and need clever ideas on how to get a group together. All I have now are some vague not even half-baked ideas. Tell me the clever ideas you have used, and it may inspire me.
What's floating in my head at the moment is that a bad guy wants each of the PCs...
No psionics, right? If you use the psionic classes, I'd be wary of a fighter/psychic warrior: full BAB and d10 HP from the fighter side along with the powers of the psychic warrior. That's not the scary part, though: what's scary is that fighters gain 10 bonus feats, and psychic warriors gain...
I bought a community supporter account via PayPal, but as far as I could tell, nothing happened. Is this supposed to be automatic, or will my account eventually be upgraded manually.
I read the other threads here, but they all seem to be about renewing existing CSAs or restoring ones that...
3e changed Halflings to break their association with Hobbits ... I was wondering if anyone ignored this change for their campaigns, and still had Halflings remain Hobbit-like.
Out of the easy systems that people recommended, which would make the best stepping stone to D&D? I have a friend who is interested in playing, but is intimidated by lots of rules. Maybe introduce her to C&C first, or is there something that would work better?
The duskblade class from PHB II seems cool, but I think they get too much at first level. I think many fighter types with an INT of 11 or more might pick-up a single level for this reason. Specifically, one level of duskblade gives the following benefits:
* +2 to Fort and Will saves
* +1 BAB...
