Nah, don't be fooled by the big white spaces. If you copy the text from the Starter Set preview into an editor you'll see that its text font has a size of 8 which is smaller than 4E's text size, AFAIR.

Nah, no feats. Skills as in predetermined backgrounds (fighters are always soldiers etc) seems likely. Some basic magic items up to level 20 (+x weapons, potions, etc). Basic and classic monsters up to level 20 (goblin, skeleton, orc, oger, some dragon). -YRUSirius

DMs just need to have the EXPLICIT permission to dismiss any notion of canon if they want to. Heck, Ed Greenwood himself said in the OGB that the DM has every right to make this setting his own. Every setting box after it repeated this aswell. People just need to learn to finally respect that...
