I would ruled it as advantage on stealth while stopped behind the illusion and a normal roll when moving, mainly because of the disadvantage, but you should talk with your DM and see what he thinks.

I like this idea, maybe i can do something different too, like put a timer and dont tell them what happens when it reaches 0 or make them roll randomly during exploration of the jungle.

I think its better to have a fog that has the effect of the Guards & Wards spell instead of the entire jungle, this way i can make the party get lost in specific moments and not during the entire jungle crawl, because i think that would get annoying

I like the idea but the meazel is a bit weak for the level their at maybe i could use a hag or some other monster and just give them the ability to teleport.

Yeah the party is not going to gain the benefits of long rest unless they are in a very safe spot, i think this way i can make the party panic a little as they realise they are getting weaker and weaker and a safe spot is nowhere in sight.

Yeah i really love creating and tweaking monsters, it's pretty fun coming up with ideas.

I like the little touches to make the situation creepier, i will really enjoy coming up with different ways to set the tone. The shadows are really great monsters but unfortunately i already used them twice in this campaign and i do not want to overuse them

I had the idea of having a inteligent spider monster that was really just a bit stronger than a giant spider but acted as if it was this super powerfull entity and tried to manipulate the party to do its biding so they do not become its next meal

I like the idea with messing with their sleep, maybe il make a area where they try to long rest but wake up the next morning without any of the long rest benefits

Really cool advice, the PC are all level 4 there are 3, they are searching for a ancient ruin lost in the jungle thats where the haunting of the jungle is coming from.
