    Healing

My biggest hope is the introduction of percentage based healing. It never made sense that a 1st level character could be reduced to zero hit points and then restored to max with one cure light wounds potion. But the same character, at 20th level, could be reduced to zero and that same potion...

    Static Saves

Is there a reason why you can't roll an attack roll for each one if you so choose? In that case, it's no different from the current save system if you prefer it.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure the world loves drow as much as WOTC loves drow. And maybe that's the problem here. It stands to reason that sets that feature non-drow minis would sell better simply because not everyone features drow in every adventure they run.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

It was five unpainted and unassembled metal drow minis for $25.00. That's ludicrous. Perhaps a less insane approach would have yielded a better result.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

With the Basic Set they had 16 miniatures. It sold for $25.00 and included a lot more than just the miniatures. It's a marketing thing. Like baseball cards, those things are produced for pennies and sold based on their worth to the customer, not their production costs.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

I don't think it is. I rounded pretty high. With their industry connections, I see no reason why WOTC would need to spend that much.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

No way. Assume 20 miniatures. WOTC probably has these little dudes mass produced at a cost to themselves of about $.25 each, if that. So that's $5.00. Now the map printing, which would be done in large scale as well. If they can do 4 of them in a $15 set now, and still profit, they can...

    Return of Boxed Sets?

That would be a good idea too, as long as they also offered them together, and at a discount. Figure $25 for each of those, or all of them for $60 (with a slip case to hold it all together and bonus mini!), and everybody's happy.

    Static Saves

So I take it the Saga Defense/Save system has been confirmed for 4e? I've heard a lot of talk, but I've yet to see confirmation.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

The way I see it, even if the adventure stunk, you'd still get a boat load of minis and maps that could be used for your own games. And if the adventure is good, more the better. And you can still use the stuff again later for your own creations. Again, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

The way I see it, if it was 1-5th level for $60, I'm getting about 20 game sessions for $60. That's $3 per 4 hours game session. Since the average 2 hour movie ticket is what? $10? That's cheap entertainment. On the other hand, it's $60 for game stuff, so it just depends on perspective.

It also occurred to me that there could be another book included that showed the buyer how to use the minis and maps in various scenarios for the miniatures game. This way, Wizards could market it to both D&D players and those who just play minis game.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

You may be right, and this might not work because of it, but they did pre-package some things with minis, such as the little 3.5 starter box and of course the big dragons. I have no idea how/if this impacted the current mini market though.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

No, not really. I know boxed sets are expensive, that's why WOTC dropped them. I think the price could be close to that, but it might vary a bit. That said, it shouldn't be as expensive as it used to be now that WOTC has ramped up miniature production and technology has improved.

    Return of Boxed Sets?

I'd do it for $100, but I'd want: An adventure that goes from 1st to 10th level. A miniature for every monster used in the adventure. (Let's assume 30-50 minis, many of course would be used multiple times, and a small level of substitution would be ok.) Miniature scale maps for every planned...

    Return of Boxed Sets?

It depends on the intent of the adventure. You could write a good adventure that requires only 15 minis or so. But then again, you could write an adventure that requires the DM to go out and buy 100 minis too. I figure they could supply 15 minis and provide a list of suitable substitutes. The...

    Return of Boxed Sets?

Cross-posted from the WOTC boards: Imagine this: For, let's say $60, you get: An adventure that goes from 1st to 5th level. A miniature for every monster used in the adventure. (Let's assume 20 minis, many of course would be used multiple times.) Miniature scale maps for every planned...

    Playtesting?

I suspect some of the WOTC guys would require the undergo a proper inspection. And as it just so happens, I'm willing to volunteer to playtest them as well. :D
