We need to stop short changing thieves on equipment

Complete Thieves Handbook Back in 2E the Complete Thieves Handbook had a whole bunch of mundane thieves tools, with information on when you might need them and how they would be useful.

Lots of statistics from the Monster Manual

I think this is really fascinating because it helps us understand why the game designers made the choices they made, and I think it fits with the philosophy of 4E about revealing the inner workings and the math of the game. It makes it easier for us to be co-designers and house-rulers by giving...

    Class's Secondary Roles

Yeah, I've been thinking about a multiclassed fighter(wizard) focusing on using wizard spells to increase the fighter's "stickines": slow/immobilize/difficult terrain effects to make it hard for monsters to get away/past the fighter to go after the back line characters. I could definitely see...

    Power sources. What's the point?

Yup. I haven't done the analysis with the full power list, but in the PrRC there was a distinct correlation between Power Source and which defense is being attacked. Martial power sources, for example, attacked AC most of the time, while Arcane rarely attacked AC.

I also have the books [merged] (info on upcomming Power sources and more)

I mentioned this before, but I think it got lost. What can you tell us about polymorph? Someone said it is a ritual. Is there a list of specific monsters you can 'morph into, or anything in the MM? Do you get all their stats/powers/abilities, or just some of them? Thanks.

Someone mentioned Polymorph is a ritual. Any more details? Is there a limited list of what you can polymorph into? Do you only get some of the stats/abilities of what you morph into?

Thank! Are all item powers daily, or are any per-encounter powers?

Are there any limits on how many powers per day you can get from items?

Are "barriers" (straight line through the target square - like for walls) the term for lines now?

Info on the Wizard (Looked at the book today)

OK, cool, thats what I thought it would mean. I like it. A little extra versatility compared to other classes, but still toned down from 3.X and not for your bread-and-butter at-wills and encounter powers.

Swarms + Undead? Stirges wouldn't be able to suck any blood from a zombie.

If Utility spells use the spell book, does that mean that like the dailies you pick 1 of N Utility spells each day?

    Character Sheet Released

Perhaps, though since it's an additive damage bonus, and the hit probability is scaling up, whether +2 damage on OA's is worth the cost of a feat shouldn't depend on the base damage of the OA. You'll still be making the OA if you have the chance. edit: rereading - if it is a to-hit bonus, then...

    Character Sheet Released

Well, there's no cost to taking an OA - it doesn't trade off with any other actions. And at-will's don't get replaced (and when they bump at epic tier, I think basic attacks do too). So charging vs. at will power will still be the same kind of decision. Since you don't have *that* many...

    Character Sheet Released

I'm assuming the higher armor bonus is coming from the "advanced materials" armors (like the "feyweave leather armor" they mentioned at some point).

    A Question of base attack

Well, there is also a difference in which defenses you are attacking. The fighter gets +1, but is mostly attacking AC. Wizards often attack reflex, will and fort - which are typically 3-4 point lower than AC.

What about a paladin MC'ed into wizard - strength bonus on magic missile? Fling them real hard :) "It's all in the wrist"
