    Zmajrojen-Dragonborn Racial Class

I like it. Since it's heavily combat oriented I would try to give it more features for the social and exploration challenges. In line with that I would move Draconic Presence way up so it sees more use throughout the character's career rather than only towards the end. Consider making some...

    D&D 5E Conjure Random Creatures

For your druid character, I'd let them pick their own animals. But man--if I was playing a wild sorcerer with Conjure Whatever I would love it if I rolled randomly to see what's summoned. (I have no idea if Conjure Whatever is on the Sorcerer list but extra randomness would be amazing.)

What are you reading? Nov 2017

I got through book six (I think) around a twelve years ago and always meant to go back and read the rest of it. But at this point I think I'd have to re-read the first six again. (Or at least read the Wikipedia page on them.)

It's been such a long time since I played it that I can't give specific details on what went wrong. Sometimes it seemed like bad luck (e.g., searching but not finding a land type so we could make a specific item). I don't think we retried many scenarios so we probably didn't figure out key...

I want to build an FR Dwarf based on John Mclane from Die Hard...

When you go up against Zuggtmoy make sure you tell her, "Yippee ki-yay, mother fungus."

Tough as nails is right! I've played it three times co-op and twice solo and never won. Sometimes it was not even close. It's a beautiful game that's well-designed and intricate but at least for me it was too difficult and now it never gets played.

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a GM?

Weakness I don't have the passion and drive to put in the weekly homework required to run a really great campaign. Strength I recognize my weakness and only run infrequent one-shots.

WHAT NEW MINIATURES YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE MADE?

This Reaper Minis Kickstarter has the Dancing Hut and Baba Yaga, herself. I saw an Apparatus of Kwalish recently but I don't recall where. You might be interested in the Heroines in Sensible Shoes 3 Kickstarter. It looks like it covers monstrous PC races from 5E and it looks like you can add...

I enjoyed the first more but I like the second as well. I liked the flashback and current storytelling in the first book. What does ran a bit much on rails mean? I considered jumping into the third book right away but thought switching things up would be a nice change of pace.

We haven't played in a setting with other races but if we did I would either have it be: purely cosmetic: Twi'leks are close enough to humans that I wouldn't model their differences mechanically. mostly cosmetic but give away specific traits for free: I'd run mon calamari like humans but let...

Correct. Also the PCs have broader competency since resolving tasks is based on how they handle the task (approach), not whether they're trained on the task (skill). I find it works well to emulate stories where the characters have broad competency. I don't know if it's in the rules but we...

    What are you listening to?

I can't get enough of John Moreland lately. Ate up his albums immediately after hearing Gospel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVtljw0hfqs

I'm just finishing up Red Seas Under Red Skies, the second in the Gentleman Bastard series. Then I'm going to try out Patrick Rothfuss' Name of the Wind.

If memory serves, in Accelerated you have fewer aspects (maybe just three), one stress pool rather than physical and mental ones, and instead of skills you have six approaches (flashy, forceful, sneaky, careful, clever, and quick) that are rolled based on how you're doing your task, not what...

I would go with Fate to Fate Accelerated. They handle narrative story elements well and don't get into crunchy or tactical minutiae that would be out of sync with how the story and combats are demonstrated in the film.

D&D 5E Rival NPC adventure parties

For a superhero game my friend named his character Icicle even though his power was superstrength, just to catch villains by surprise. :)

If you end up getting it, please let us know how it goes. I'm tempted to get something like this as an introduction to RPGs with my daughters but I also look at it and think it might be better to jump them right into a simple roleplaying game instead and let their imaginations run rampant.

    D&D 5E Party scenes

I recommend keeping rolls to a minimum and using them to corroborate what the players are saying and doing in character. In my experience if rolling is too front and center, players start relying too heavily on them rather than getting into the social and verbal interaction of the scene.

Superheroes are a hot commodity -- why aren't superhero RPG's?

Speak of the devil! Our Star Wars game is cancelled for this weekend so one of the other players volunteered to run a one-shot of his superhero fate game that I mentioned upthread! Excelsior!
