    extended rests

Okay, so they've failed to break out today? Or did they find somewhere to hide? Really? It took 2 encounters to burn all their encounters before, this time it took 1. If you keep letting them blow all their dailies each encounter, why would they ever NOT do so? Then why cann't you just go easy...

    extended rests

Why would you choose to take a short rest rather than an extended rest? Why are you adventuring in the first place? That's why. Whatever you're trying to achieve, whether it's getting treasure, rescuing allies, saving the world, or killing the villain... It won't happen if you take spend 23...

Staff Fighting and Dual Implement Spellcaster

Hmmm, same named game element rule by RAW only applies to untyped bonuses. I'd forgotten that. So it can't really interfere with adding two enhancement bonuses from the same source.

Psions and mind control: how often do you hit?

Monster basic attacks can be rather effective. Getting a bodyguard to mark his ally, and give him ongoing damage, while taking damage due to being marked himself, is fecking awesome. Managing it four times in a row, combined with ghost sound to make it sound like the monster is announcing his...

Anyone else out there with rule overload?

Hmmm: a ranged defender could conceivably work, but the marking mechanic doesn't suit them at all. A ranged defender should focus less on "hit me" than "don't hit him" less on any one enemy then on one ally. They pick an ally to defend, and punish any enemy that hits that ally, trying to stay...

    Tips On Being Evil

That seems like Diabolic Evil. A specific subset of lawful evil Many types of evil would never obey those restrictions.

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

Saying that the Staff thing is legal. Nothing about the Healing items issue. And if customer service had never been known to contradict itself, or the rules, that'd be fine. Hell, it's even possible that CS is right as regards Rules as Intended. But the statement is wrong as regards RAW...

So static feats aren't acceptable for comparison, and powers aren't acceptable for comparison? It has to be, specifically, an item's static property? You're getting awfully specific in what you require to prove that it's a POSSIBLE wording that they COULD have used. Fortunately I'm rather...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

CB is full of blatant bugs. There are feats that don't even display a short description on the character sheet. Bonus damage you only get Vs. foes you have combat advantage on is applied at all times, etc.

A weapon =/= the weapon. When you wield an Urgrosh, are you wielding an Urgrosh in each hand? Or are you wielding the axe head in your main hand, and the spear in your offhand?

A quick search on the compendium finds me: Blessed Shifter Divine Assault Imaginative Reaction Tactical Feint Saving Breath Tactical assault Saving Grace Touch of Salvation Tacticians Word Iron Hands and Guiding Rebuke However, I will note that these are all referring to stat modifiers OH...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

Your conclusion in this is correct, and your argument is sound, but the italicised premise is wrong. Staff Fighting actually applies only to Quarterstaffs But quarterstaffs are staff implements, so that's beside the point. HOWEVER the fact that staff implements become double weapons doesn't...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

I am illustrating what you have been doing. The staff weapon group is a weapon group containing: Quarterstaff Quarterstaff-primary end Quarterstaff-secondary end (and hopefully several others eventually: there are other staff group weapons in existence that aren't represented yet.) The Staff...

*meh* if they stack there are some powers they make VERY effective. I see no problem with them not stacking. I would probably allow them to stack on a trial basis though, just because I like healing :p It allows the party to come back from closer to dead which=fun. They could use the phrasing...

I guess the RAW is wrong because you disagree with it? A mace is a mace isn't it? So a Club, which is a mace, must deal 1d8 damage? And a greatclub must be weilded one handed. It is a mace after all.

You are wielding a staff-group weapon in each hand. However, you are NOT wielding a quarterstaff in each hand. You are wielding a single quarterstaff in two hands. A staff-group weapon is only a staff-implement IF it is a quarterstaff.

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

Note the "treat is as a quarterstaff" A staff implement isn't any staff weapon other than a quarterstaff. Even if you can treat a quarterstaff as a staff weapon in each hand you cannot treat it as a quarterstaff in each hand. If you aren't even wielding two weapons, you certainly aren't...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

I have noticed something that should appease those who want to cheese DIS by using only one expensive implement: If you have a +6 in your main hand, and a +1 in your off hand, you get +7 to damage. If you have a +1 in your main hand, and a +6 in your off hand, you get (assuming you can add the...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

Read the definition of a staff implement in PHB1. A staff implement is a QUARTERSTAFF. It is not any staff group weapon. When wielding a quarterstaff as a double weapon, how many quarterstaffs are you wielding? ONE How many staff-weapons are you wielding? Two But how many quarterstaffs...

Does anyone else think this is a bug in CB?

Nichwee has convinced me that that point is sufficiently ambiguous that it's not worth debating. The point remains: a quarterstaff is an implement. A quarterstaff is not TWO implements. DIS requires two implements.
