    Planning some desert encounters...

If only there was a way to convert the type of save a spell used. Make Charm Person based off of Fortitude and then use it on a Wizard. That would be power.

Um... There's an Undead Dryad at the Door...

For me, there's an inherent sadness and tragedy in the Banshee, and I'd feel the same way about the Dryad in this situation.

Mathghamhna’s Distance Learning Program: The School Of Hard Knocks

Mathghamhna’s Distance Learning Program: The School Of Hard Knocks I've been kicking around a concept for a character background, based around the creative use of a few game elements. It's the foundation of the background of my PC Wizard/War Weaver and I'd love some feedback as it if it makes...

Attacking a walled structure - any experience?

Perhaps you'd benefit from giving the Necromancer side some incorporeal undead that can simply pass thru the wall, attack, then retreat when injured and get healed up my the necromancers to fight round 2. (EDIT: I missed that LostSoul had already made this recommendation, Ninja'd.) Sneaking in...

    What do you do when...

As a DM, I would have went with the Gate explaination. If I have to choose between the viable explaination that furthers my plan, or the viable explaination that completely ruins my plan, the choice is clear. A Summoned creature with an anti-magic ability would either project that ability away...

Um... There's an Undead Dryad at the Door...

Undead Fay. I don't hear that come up very often. Actually, I don't think I've ever heard of this. Nice. What CR are you aiming for? Hm... Maybe like a Banshee? Perhaps not as powerful. Forgotten Realms Dragons of Faerun has a Spectral Creature template for an incorporeal undead for a...

    Planning some desert encounters...

How about Mirage Mullah's? Come across an Oasis, accept hosptiality of it's inhabitants, something inevitably goes wrong, perhaps a party member or two stays too long and become's changed... and then needs to be extracted and kept alive long enough to survive the process of being returned back...

Feat that makes spells deal Half their damage as Fire

Consecrate was my first thought once I read your post title. Born of Three Thunders does this for Lightning or sonic type spells. Lord of the Uttercold does this with cold and negative energy. After doing some digging, I think Energy Admixture might be what you're looking for. Edit: Daw, Ninja'd.

    Planning some desert encounters...

From Sandstorm... The Asherati might make for an interesting encounter. Perhaps a group that's defensively territorial tries to chase the party out of their section of desert. Hard to fight enemies that can dive under the sand. After a conflict with them, perhaps it can be some sort of...

Thaumaturgist Planar Cohort- Lawful Neutral options?

If I ever played this character (As I said, I make much more characters than I get around to playing) I'd discuss with whoever's my DM about how much customizing options I'd have to calling a Planar ally. Building a classed outsider from the ground up sure would be convenient!

Thaumaturgist Planar Cohort- Lawful Neutral options?

My Google-fu cannot find info on Parai, or images.

Thaumaturgist Planar Cohort- Lawful Neutral options?

A Mercane seems cool, just looked them up. A Justicator or Bladeling could be incredible depending upon the campaign, I could see either as an excellent bodyguard. Visilights looked kinda squishy, but their CHA drain ability is pretty cool. The Unraveler.... That's pretty incredible...

Thaumaturgist Planar Cohort- Lawful Neutral options?

I'm toying around with an Archivist Summoner build (I make far more characters for fun then I'll even have time to play in games, but anyway...) and it's looking like a Lawful Neutral, archiologist adventurer personality. It's shaping up to be an Archivist7/Thaumaturgist5/Archivist8. The...

    Death, as a plot hook

As with all spell combos that can potentially do more then the individual spells were intended to do, It's up to the DM (in your case, DM's) on what to allow. Since you guys already have your death and returning from death mechanic in place, I'd not allow that combo to work, but I don't think...

What's a Caster Without Spells To Do?

Raised it from infancy from a Rust Monster Wand. To a Full Grown, 10HD Warbeast mount. All the info is on the blog link off that Enworld post. Enjoy! That Factotum joined the Mages of the Arcane Order (the group, not the PrC) and taught a class at Mathghamhna on Aberration Handling, giving...

What's a Caster Without Spells To Do?

To return to the OP, Does anyone have reusable or single use magical items they really like? I player who had a Psion carried around a few Hammerspheres to break out when he'd run low on PP and wanted to smash something. My Factotum had a Bag of Endless Caltrops (Arms & Equipment version) to...

Ideas for adventure path for the plane of Limbo

Well, yeah, but that's all analogous to a chaotic city on the Material Plane. This is the Epitome of Chaos. This spurns Order by it's very definition, and order is one of the defining characteristics of a city, as I understand the term. Just having agreed upon rules for how everyone can...

What's a Caster Without Spells To Do?

It's the "15 minute adventuring day" that I want to avoid (Refering back to the Richard comment), I don't want the entire party to revolve around the Wizard needing to rest. Since I'm aiming for War Weaver, the other players will likely be more dependant upon the Wizard for those yummy buffs...

Monk Variant for My Arathian Campaign

Neat concept. I dig living constructs. The progression of this class appears more dependant upon outside individuals and downtime than other classes. Since surgery is required from a very select group of secretly trained individuals, a PC would need to return to the Order to progress in class...

    The Bar'ds Nuclear Option

Teach creatures to hate Bardic performances? That's kinda awesome, in an evil sort of way.
