Proposal: Power Sources, Class, and Keywords

Shortened and clarified. Now, *Bump* If this doesn't get any response, I'll let the subject drop off the front page.

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

There are only three players listed. Is it that the other players go after "BAD GUYS"? "As a representative of the city, I am placing you all under arrest. Drop your weapons now. If you fail to do so, I cannot guarantee your survival to stand trial." Taking in the woman by the Ambassador, he...

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

"I can assure you those men did not have an appointment, as Ambassador Glasston was expecting to meet Professor Scrupworth today. That is why I have come, I'm sure the Ambassador will meet with me." Speaking evenly but in a long stream so as not to allow her a word edgewise, Andrec slips...

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

Quickly stowing sword & shield, Andrec strides into the room, his face a mask of familiar routine. "Miss, I have been sent to see the Ambassador. I come from the city office with grave news regarding a colleague. Please inform Ambassador Glasston at once." Once again betraying his...

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

Pulling out sword and shield, Andrec moves quickly to the doorway, but he stands to one side quietly looking in. With his off-hand he gestures the others for quiet as he tries to determine if the culprits are still inside. If there's no sign of anyone inside: After a moment, Andrec nudges the...

[Adventrue] Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks II: The Mysterious Imlach Island

This is a no brainer. There is no advantage to continuing without a short rest if the encounter is over anyway. The changes to Milestones, plus the lack of continued effects, indicate no advantage whatsoever to not restoring used spells.

Proposal: Power Sources, Class, and Keywords

I was informed that Healing Word (Basic cleric heal) had received errata. I cannot find that specific errata now, but I'm going to support this proposal for now anyway, as it's a clarification that I think should be made. I propose that any power granted by a class innately carries the keyword...

[Adventrue] Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks II: The Mysterious Imlach Island

This is a creative way of interpreting the rules. By the definition of encounter and short rest, if we don't take a rest, the encounter is not over. That is why encounter powers don't reset. Is it your intention to specifically alter these conventions for the purpose of this adventure, or is...

Are fluff and crunch so tied together in this edition? I don't think there's a combo I couldn't justify Noble Adept for - but that doesn't serve anybody's point. Noble Adept is really good. It is, however, a pretty specific type of character - which is what themes are supposed to be. I...

'Fighter' is a broader term than 'Paladin', if I understand you correctly, but I don't see how that alters players' choices regarding their characters. Are you asserting that the difference between how common (or how generally useful) the themes are is a problem?

Walking Dad - I had trouble understanding your statement. Could you rephrase it? I agree with Iron Sky that refluffing is relatively simple (after all, look at gods & backgrounds: L4W does it pretty often). I can also see that having one theme that is better than the others is a problem. I...

    L4W Discussion Thread V

Options and choice are what make characters unique (along with backstory and attitude). Providing choices for character creation is something WotC is good at. There are a great deal of options. In fact, there seems to be a glut of options at every opportunity to make a decision that seems...

    L4W Discussion Thread V

'Keep up?' We don't require players to take optimal stat builds, or to match their class/race for maximum statistic benefit - we allow it, but many people don't do that. How is this different? While I understand not wanting to exclude players, why are you punishing the players who do buy...
