    Forked Thread: Changeover Poll

No good choice for me. Two (overlapping) groups I am in are clearly staying some sort of 3.x and not trying 4e, one is new (save two players) and testing 4e.

    Changeover Poll

I voted Slight Changeover. I previously voted No Change. I'm DMing a modified 3.5e game and playing in one as well. I expect these to continue for some time still because everyone enjoys them immensely. Any future 3.5 style game I run will likely be more heavily modified to include elements...

    Ranged Sneak Attack

The mentioned portion about ranged sneak attacks is in the first article, but all four articles have good information about sneak attacks. Rules of the Game: All About Sneak Attacks (Part One) Rules of the Game: All About Sneak Attacks (Part Two) Rules of the Game: All About Sneak Attacks...

    Advanced Player's Guide questions

My PDF also has nothing about sustaining in Obfuscating Mist in the Spellbinder section. EDIT: Nevermind, I see you already figured it out Ari.

Missing 3.5 errata files from WotC

I hadn't actually had a chance to look through it all, but yes you are correct. What an odd update, then.

Missing 3.5 errata files from WotC

It looks like the 3.5 errata got an update recently. There is now a 12 page errata document for Magic Item Compendium. Official D&D Updates It also looks like Complete Champion, Complete Scoundrel and Tome of Battle all got updates.

Tell me about your D&D group

The core of my current group has been playing together since 2003. We have had some come and go over time. The current lineup consists of: 29/M/Systems Administrator 24/M/Student 20/M/Student 24/M/Chef 20/M/Unknown We're currently playing modified 3.5

Missing 3.5 errata files from WotC

Try here for the Magic Item Compendium Errata: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/MIComp_Errata.zip It is not linked on the errata page at the WotC site, but it is available to download from their website. I found it with a lucky guess.

Mthrendain Powers Changed in Dragon 366

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/drtoc/366 They have changed the fighter powers in the Mithrendain article for the full issue of Dragon 366. When the Mithrendain portion was originally released, the fighter powers only worked for light blades or spears.

    Mazes & Monsters: Any Good?

Right. I did not intend to make a broad generalization against any particular group of people, just that I know of people that do think in this fashion and do make arguments against things based on bad information such as this for religious reasons. My reason for bringing it up was intended to...

    Mazes & Monsters: Any Good?

While I would love to agree that perspectives have changed, I live in an area (The Bible Belt of the southern United States) where some people still think this way, unfortunately. I remember some people in my area getting upset at Harry Potter books calling them satanic. The movie may not be...

    Skill System?

I'll try to give it a shot. This is how I understand it. Let's take a typical 1st level rogue with +2 Intelligence Modifier. According to Table 5-1 on page 53 of Alpha 3, the rogue gets 8 + 2 Skill Ranks to spend. On page 52 under "Acquiring Skills" it states that a character can only spend...

    Mazes & Monsters: Any Good?

I liken it to Jack Chick's Dark Dungeons in purpose. It shows what some people think about our hobby and how dangerous it can be to let yourself escape for a bit of fun. It's like one of those afternoon specials on the dangers of roleplaying. It's good for a laugh, but as a made for...

MySQL Help Wanted: Current my.cnf file

I'm not sure what table types you are using. I don't know much about vBulletin, but I did do a cursory search about the subject and the default (at one point at least) is MyISAM. If this is the case, then those settings seem reasonable assuming that you have 8GB of memory and the database is...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

I believe that you are referring to the d20 STL, not the OGL. The d20 STL was updated several times, but the OGL was not.

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

I have a few questions: 1. With all the talk about how the GSL/OGL interaction affects third-party publishers, my concern as a gamer is about what I can do with OGL licensed material from existing products that I want to update to 4e and share with others on the web. Will this be possible, and...

Balancing the Metamagic Feats for At-Will Spellcasting

I have been following the thread and I have to agree with bladesong here. It makes sense in the terms of the rules you have proposed and is easy to follow.
