Fizban's Treasury of Dragons: An In-Depth Review

The artist for the gem dragons was the late Glen Angus, who IMO was spectacular in depicting the gods in Deities and Demigods. He might have gone for the roughly cut gemstone look for the amethyst and crystal dragon scales which did not appeal to everyone, so I get what you're saying. I wonder...

Fizban's Treasury of Dragons: An In-Depth Review

I get that they meant it to be a dewlap… but yeah, the crystal dragon in that concept art is a bit on the chubby side.

Fizban's Treasury of Dragons: An In-Depth Review

As do I, and their entire absence from 4E… Gutted over Sardior getting shattered, but that means his essence can be reassembled. Somehow. So wait, is this now somewhat analogous to a dracolich's phylactery? I love this one. Moonstones are after all gems but it's different enough from the...

D&D 5E Fizban Is In The Wild -- With the Table of Contents!

We've got tidbits on ghost dragons, hoard scarabs, and liondrakes formerly dragonnes from SyFy Wire.

D&D 5E Fizban Is In The Wild -- With the Table of Contents!

Scott Brocius and Mark A. Jindra did a whole series of 3.0 Sardior lore in the Mind's Eye psionics column of WotC D&D beginning with The Legend of Sardior. They gave Sardior and his six thanes (including a deceased obsidian dragon ex-thane) full stats, prestige classes for Sardior devotees...

D&D 5E Fizban Is In The Wild -- With the Table of Contents!

Zeboim spawned them on Krynn ("If Mom can create dragons, so can I!") and then let them loose on the other worlds?

Here's the link to the final conversion itself. This part was my suggestion. :giggle:

D&D 5E Fizban Is In The Wild -- With the Table of Contents!

I hate it when the PC at home doesn't always connect to ENWorld while the one at work does (oh the irony) so I'm late in joining this thread. Anyway, I was involved in the Creature Catalog's Converting Dragons to 3E thread and contributed to the converted pink dragon, so it's listed there...

D&D 5E Fizban's Treasury Dragons Ranked By Challenge Rating

Did WotC hint that we'll have enough unique dragons to round out those 70 stat blocks, be they deific aspects or epic individuals? Because I hope they throw in a bonus and give us a high CR Demodragon.

D&D 5E Fizban's Treasury Dragons Ranked By Challenge Rating

As they should, as real-world amethysts were at one point the gemstones of royalty. Topaz never ranked that high among gemstones. And of course amethyst dragons got their poison immunity from Greek mythology: Dionysus spilled wine over the statue the nymph Amethyst had been transformed into...

D&D 5E Fizban's Treasury Dragons Ranked By Challenge Rating

They've changed the hierarchy of the gem dragons back to 2e with Amethyst as the most powerful I see. In 3e Topaz was the most powerful (99% identical stats with Silver), probably because the Multiple Ability Dependency of 3.0 psionics dictated that Topaz should have a high Con to effectively...

D&D 5E Some Fizban's Treasury of Dragons sneak peek previews

So would moonstone dragons be related to "true" gem dragons at all?

That Full D&D Renault Commercial Is Here And It Features Tiamat And Venger!

I think this is just the first of a mini-series of commercials so expect more to come. Also I wish they'd re-do the cartoon intro with the original audio using these actors. Just for kicks.

    Converting Psionic Creatures

Whoa! I took a break from d20 and RPG and only got back to EN World because I got a PM from someone who created an account just to comment on my homebrew glass dragon! So now I decided to take a look at my old haunts, such as this thread and the dragons conversion thread. I missed the fun of...

where to from here? planning thread

Hey guys, I am yet again on the road, on assignment from the office, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I'd just like to know at this point what psionic monsters you'll plan to convert in the future that if I have the 2e sources I can already take a look at them. I sorta got midstream with...

    Converting True Dragons

Ooh, new dragon! I'll give your suggestions a look-over and then load the table into Excel for me to check the stats.

where to from here? planning thread

Ok, got here, went through the gist of your posts. So we are going to make several netbooks categorized by setting/source. And finish converting the monsters. What about the technical part? Is this going to be a PDF? I actually did one for the dragons for in-house use. Just made a bare-bones...

freyar, it's the shadow dragon, (reused in Draconomicon) not deep, which is appropriate for his username. Good. Gotta check that out.

    Eric "Shade" Jansing (1971-2012)

My best memories of working with Shade here were our very first collaboration (the jacinth dragon), and converting the Philippine monsters from Imagine (?) magazine. He enjoyed reading about my childhood experiences hearing tales about the aswang and other fearsome monsters told to make us behave.

    Eric "Shade" Jansing (1971-2012)

Oh My God. :.-( I just read freyar's PM here in the hotel restaurant where I had given a talk for a seminar. It's because of my increased office travels that I haven't been as active at the CC lately, and wish I had the chance to participate one last time while Shade was still here. My flight...
