    [D&D 3.5] Masterwork Craft rules

I agree that the only important factor in pricesetting a masterwork item is the frequency (or lack of) master craftsmen. And the general availability of the craft - and to the extent it matters the extra time spent (usually not an issue in a medieval economy) and the cost of better materials...

    [D&D 3.5] Masterwork Craft rules

We (...well some of us) seem to agreee on the idea that multiplying the price is basically more sound than adding a flat value to the cost. Determining the exact multiplier is hard, since D&D makes no effort to create any resemblance to a working economy. And... it's a game so...

    [D&D 3.5] Masterwork Craft rules

I like the idea of masterwork is x6 the cost.

    Alignment Restrictions in 3.5

Will D&D 3.5 have action dice?

Well, the concept isn't entirely foreign to D&D as Clerics with the Luck Domain has a power not unlike Action Dice. I sincerely doubt, though, that the revised rules will include Action Dice as anything more than an optional rule.

    What is a vanity thread?

You're asking whether it was cricket for you to post your cricket thread? ;) Good thing Piratecat moved this to Meta. :D

    What is a vanity thread?

I would think a vanity thread is a thread you create - not because you have something interesting to say or any real questions - but because you like seing your name on the threadlist and like when people respond to your post. Thus, the reason for such a thread is a thinly-veiled attempt to...

Irritating Munchkin tricks your Players try to argue.

Good thing the revised edition are going to revise/clarify the the rules regarding spells' area of effect. :)

    (OT Movie) "Hero"

The new Chinese movie starring Jet Li amongst others. I've seen some footage and the battle scenes looks absolutely amazing. Has anybody in here seen it yet?

[Humour, True story] Why I prefer to DM, or three reasons to give up on gaming.

Funny stuff! :D Scary stuff! ;) You probably wouldn't have liked playing in our group either -- you seem to want to question everybody's motive -- your own, your fellow players', the mysterious cloaked stranger with the treasure map's, and so on. Nobody cares about those things anymore --...

    Revised DR

Sounds reasonable. :) (BTW here's the link to the Silvered Weapon spell, if you or others missed it: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/mc/mc20020130a)

    Revised DR

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: No golfbags... But you don't know whether or not you are going to meet anything with DR till you've gotten back to safety: You won't use it on a DR 0 critter 'cos what are you going to use if the DR critter attacks? And if it doesn't - which you'll only know when you're...

    Revised DR

Re: Re: Re: Re: No golfbags... Compared to casting GMW on everything, I think it is. Still, my point would is that you don't need either.

    Revised DR

Re: Re: No golfbags... Oh, but if he is bringing a spellcaster, they can just cast Golden Weapon on the weapon. No need for the golf bag, then.

    Revised DR

No golfbags... Even if every darn monster the characters met had DR, I wouldn't expect any of them to tug the golf bag. Why would they? A magic sword of plain ol' steel would be sufficient to deal with most of them. Compare a +5 steel long sword to a +2 nutella (whatever) long sword - when...

    Spellcasters that go OOPS

If it wasn't such a hassle I'd really like to play with the variant rule in the DMG about stray missile fire (can't remember the proper name). It would also apply to rays and could really create some unintentionally funny effects when the wizard's aim is off. :D
  18. Left-handed Hummingbird

    Revised DR

Boy, people have really worked up a sweat about this. Ten pages? I hope some of the middle ones weren't that important. ;) Personally, though I agree that simplicity is best (or simply the easiest?), I think the focus on weapon of a certain type or material adds extra flavor to the monsters. I...

[SCOOP] Psionics 3.5, The New Setting, and Dark Sun!!

That is true, but OTOH I liked that there were no safe havens for the characters: They can't stay in the cities without getting involved in the lethal intrigues and powergames played by the king, nobles, templars, merchants and underground movements. And they can't stay outside the cities...

    Dwarves with crossbows

Even though nobody would confuse a gnome and a dwarf IMC (gnomes a Size T for starters), dwarves have always had a reputation for engineering seperately from gnomes (in fact why gnomes should tinker at all must be some sort of anglosaxon concept? Norse gnomes ("nisser") are as far from...
