Tried Alchemy this weekend, and it was fun, but the infitine loop you can get in with Alchemist, potion, and a card that lets you return one treasure to the top of your deck is crazy.
yeah, I went to my local gaming store a couple times, and they just never got their act together on it. I gave up. I think I've bought two things from them in the last year...Start of Darkness and one other book.
Michael can be really handy for sure. The fact he can soak stamina damage made him really useful for the winter elder one especially when we drew the card that caused the 5 monsters to appear. He could just stand out there and blast them away.

I can't say I'm an expert on it so I won't venture a guess, but I do know that it's rarely so much the classes as the races that tend to be overpowered. I will say they've reigned it in a bit from the early years (except maybe in the Dimensional Books, but I don't have most of the recent ones...
Played it for the first time Saturday and had a lot of fun with it. My biggest downside is that no matter how good your strategy is, there's still a lot of luck needed to win.
Mind you if I had to vote between it and Shadows over Camelot, I'd pick SOC.
