I used to use a longspear (half-orc paying homage to Grummsh) and my DM had the same mindset. The problem is, is that its more likely for someone to see that you are readying and holding a spear (or other settable weapon) and just walk in for a normal attack (assuming they're only a move away)...

I know your game can be pretty hack and slash dominate, so I'm not really suprised by the great teamwork and battles that the party seems to get involved in. Great stuff again :)

wow Thanks for the great ideas guys. You've definitely given me enough to start with. I'll probably go for the barb2/fighter4/exotic wm1/.... then whatever I feel like. Either that or that nifty goliath with a large two handed weapon and racial sub levels of barbarian... oh the choices.. :)

:) Thanks for your help guys. I see why you're better off with 2 levels of barb as odd levels of fighter are a waste. 4 levels of fighter gives you a good amount of feats and weapon spec. I think the waraxe wielding dwarf barb/fighter/exotic wm might be right for me as it has more defensive...

Hi guys, I've may have a new campaign coming up and I was thinking of playing a melee tank. I was thinking of a standard two handed power attacking damage machine. It's just the standard 28 point buy for the campaign and we are starting at lvl 2 or 3. Feel free to scale it up to whatever level...

So you had the whole 'wearing the headband for most of that level so you get extra skill points' houserule eh? Intelligence has always been shortchanged by the rules in terms of items and skill points. No one except for wizards (or other int prime requisite classes) would bother upgrading it...

Wow. Actually helping the populace. Its kind of easy for Adventurers to get disillusioned with helping commoners, because a lot of the time they actively work against the PC's who are trying to save the town. Nice Read as always Jollydoc :)

I've been reading Liberators for about a year or so now and its deifinitely one of my favourite story hours. While Pcat, Sagiro, Destan and Sepulcrave are great too, I think that Liberators is probably the best in capturing the fun and giddiness of handing out the smak to the party's enemies...
