How has the 4e/3e schism affected you?

Directly or indirectly, 4E has affected my thusly: 1) I spend much less per month on gaming supplies. I used to buy every WotC book and many other publishers 3/3.5E materials. Now I have relatively few options remaining to support 3E. 2) I don't spend money on miniatures anymore. 3) My...

    3.5 Errata... What's Going On?

I remember a lot of the members of the WotC boards compiling errata in order to assist WotC in getting it released. Here it is: errata metathread That thread has links to numerous other errata threads.

WotC drops more 3E support :(

I remember a lot of the members of the WotC boards compiling errata in order to assist WotC in getting it released. I'm not sure where the threads are now, but I'll dig a bit and see if I can find it. Edit: Here it is: errata metathread That thread has links to numerous other errata threads.

WotC drops more 3E support :(

Posted on the WotC knowledge base: Once again, a great customer service move by WotC. :/ A company that continues to support legacy products helps inspire confidence in customers purchasing their products, which I will not do anymore due to a variety of reasons. /sour grapes

    D&D Minis on the Decline?

I have multiple complete sets, but I decided to stop supporting WotC when they cancelled Dragon and Dungeon magazines, announced 4E, and obsoleted most of my minis.

Feat that gives Dex to Damage?

You may be thinking of the Dead Eye feat from Dragon #304, page 82 -- also found in the Dragon Compendium Vol. 1, page 94. It adds ones dexterity modifier to ranged weapon damage with some caveats.

OK, we're gettng a little annoyed here!

If there are publishers that continue to support 3.5, then I will certainly buy. I bought EVERY 3E/3.5E product from WotC until they canceled Dragon Magazine and Dungeon Magazine. I have subscribed to the aforementioned magazines, and own every issue that has come out since 3E. I have paid...

OK, we're gettng a little annoyed here!

I think there are a lot of us who would like to show that there is still widespread support for 3E/3.5E. If people don't get to see that there is fan support, they will be less likely to decide to put out material. Others of us would like to be able to express our opinions on the way we would...

    MIC127 Ring of Spell-Battle

It was a VERY nice ring for 67,600 gp when it came out in Complete Arcane. Why they changed it to 12,000 gp is beyond me.

    Turn or Rebuke outsiders?

You shouldn't have spoken so soon. ;) Never doubt the ability of WotC to make abusable combos. Yes there is a feat that lets you turn outsiders: Notice the following portion of the planar turning feat, "You can turn or rebuke outsiders as if they were undead." Now, from the SRD: Ergo...

Jon Tweet - Magic Item Creation

Umm... He could buy magic items with it. He could use it to pay crafting expenses for his own magic items. He could use it for scribing spells into his spell book. He could use it for spell research. (I'm not sure if you are being facetious.) Gold is a measure of character power just like...

Jon Tweet - Magic Item Creation

Wouldn't the members of your party compensate your crafting expenditure of XP with GP? For instance, we would pay the crafters in our party 75% of the book value to craft items for us. That way, the crafter gets some extra wealth by making a slight profit, the recipients get magic items at a...

Jon Tweet - Magic Item Creation

I don't see how it slows advancement unless the character in question is spending exorbitant amounts of XP on crafting. If the character does drop a level below the rest of the party, the character will quickly catch back up because the lower level characters in the party gain more XP than the...

Jon Tweet - Magic Item Creation

I don't understand why spending XP on magic item creation is a bad idea. To me, it represents the crafter having to pour in part of his essense to make the item. Magic item creation is a difficult process whereby the crafter must "donate" some of his personal power to make the item.

Where will 3.5 Grognards Hang Out Come May 2008?

Yea! :D I like how you used a capital "E" for "3E" and a lower case "e" for "4e" in your statement. Must be some subconscious statement about your opinions regarding the two editions. ;) I think that should be ENW FOR 3V3R. ;)
