    WorldWide GaryCon This Weekend!

Absolutely! Aside from the knock-offs of older (A)D&D editions (of which I listed a few here ), RPGNow also has many of the old rules manuals and modules for only $4-5. Also, Wizards maintains a couple of Gary's modules for free (though I suggest Keep on The Borderlands (my favorite module...

    WorldWide GaryCon This Weekend!

BTW, this is growing quickly. It's been featured at Forbes, many more message boards, we're working on blog additions, and we also now have a Digg link, if you want to try help out that way. Let's get as many folks as we can on this! Post it to your blog or another message board...

    Your group's tributes to Gary

We've got a dungeon crawl planned. In addition, we'll be leaving out one extra chair at the table--for Gary.

    Various Gary Gygax Blog Entries/Tributes/Podcasts

My blog posting/tribute to Gary (and more thoughts on honoring him).

    WorldWide GaryCon This Weekend!

If you guys are into this idea as a fitting celebration of Gary's life, please, post it on your blogs, any message boards you may be on that would find this interesting, too! I think it'd be great to see this take off in an awesome tribute to Gary!

    WorldWide GaryCon This Weekend!

A great idea, originally posted here . Spread the word everywhere you can! Went ahead and emailed a few of the other blogs that had reported on Gary's passing, as well as my own .

D&D 4E 4e and My Setting: Can You Convince Me To Convert?

Absolutely. And really, with a world with so many allowed races and classes as your sandbox seems to have, I really think waiting to see if 4e clicks with you is a good bet--although really, taking into consideration how difficult or easy conversion would be is also . Would that conversion...

Andy Collin's comments re censoring playtester reviews

That's cool. I know what it's like, doing "guerilla posting" from work. I wasn't trying to be snarky or anything, just wanted to see if had more along the lines of post 1. :)

Andy Collin's comments re censoring playtester reviews

Absolutely. I know the best feedback I'll get is when I get to play in a demo at one of those two cons. :)

Andy Collin's comments re censoring playtester reviews

Why, then, hear about the positives beforehand? Don't they have potential for change before the final version as well? Wouldn't the same reasons you listed affect them as well? I don't think for a second there was a single malicious or false intent in letting some of the playtesters share...

Andy Collin's comments re censoring playtester reviews

Care to expound? ;) Honestly, I do not envy anyone trying to make changes to any beloved IP. These guys are gamers, designers, but generally not PR folk. So in a situation where every statement they make (as well as the tone of that statement) is going to be filleted, processed, digested...

    Campaign Length

Well, the homebrew Irrin campaign my friends and I played when I was in the Air Force has lasted since 2003, has been built upon, and played in our different groups (and systems) we've found as we went our different ways. So while it always hasn't been on at my current table (though it is now)...

Countdown to the Realms: Magic in the Forgotten Realms

I'm a little disappointed with all the terraforming/geographic changes. I wish they could have worked the changes into the existing world without perhaps changing the geography, but I'm sure plenty of folks will be enthusiastic about it all. But, again, Greyhawk's my #1, so I guess this won't...

    Dungeon and dragon WOTC forums

Paizo did a damn fine job with their run of Dungeon and Dragon (and have won me over with Pathfinder, to boot--and that's as a True20 player), and I'd hardly call ANY of it that I can think of unbalanced or poorly written. I think Dayen may have been buying cheap knock-offs of Dragon from some...

    Opinions on True20

HinterWelt, after doing Roma Imperious True20, is looking at doing a Nebuleon True 20, which I think would be even a betting system/setting fit, much as I liked True Roma. There's also Lux Aeternum , but offhand I couldn't tell you what else we'll see for that. With the free licensing, I know...

    Halflings: An Identity Crisis

Yeah, I really would have to agree. I like the more traditional halflings, and I really dislike the move we'd seen towards "kenderish" halflings. And now, with the move towards dreadlocked (as one person I saw put it) Vietnamese (or Tanka , more properly, I think) Boat People, I'm really not...

    Opinions on True20

Oh, believe you me, I am. ;) Cool news about Land of the Crane! I thought Dark Quest was doing that, but their web page doesn't look...updated. :heh: That'll be one I'll be waiting to check out.
