ZENDIKAR -- Where Magic: The Gathering and D&D Collide!

I just mean, in D&D terms, they're pretty powerful. It would work better as a FATE or AW game, I think.

ZENDIKAR -- Where Magic: The Gathering and D&D Collide!

A new skin on the magic system would be cool, but I'm not sure the planeswalker-as-PC concept translates well to D&D. Planeswalkers would work better as patrons/BBEGs.

People such as yourself, perhaps. Other people might be happy with this. The price is right, for sure.

ZENDIKAR -- Where Magic: The Gathering and D&D Collide!

About time. MtG has had such a great setting for years. I guess I get not wanting to cross the streams, but it seems like a no-brainer to me. This is probably something that's been on the burner for a while, but I wonder if the new CEO of WotC made this happen, seeing as he's a fan of both games?

Hey, if the DM is willing to work with you to make things better, good on him.

    D&D 5E Questions on stealth...

The rule is fine, in my opinion. It's heavy-handed DMs that think screwing over the players is their job that is the real problem. I feel for ya, dude. :/

D&D 5E Can a Fireball melt ice FOR REALZ?

The MOST important question is, "Can lava melt falling bodies?"

D&D 5E Can a Fireball melt ice FOR REALZ?

Put an ice cube in a fire and see how long it takes to melt. Then consider how long a fireball lasts. Then consider how this is a game and think how it might be cool to allow it to slag lead and gold without burning anyone's pants off...

D&D 5E CoS: Full of child peril and death, but lacking...

Didn't think I could make my players hate Strahd more, but I think having him always appear naked with an erection might just do it....

D&D 5E where you're going to die in CoS (spoilers)

You don't have to leave Barovia to avoid the stuff that's out of your league. None of the really bad stuff is active, it's all reactive. So you can set up warning signs for the players if they sniff around where they shouldn't be. Except Strahd, and when he wants to deal directly with the...

D&D 5E where you're going to die in CoS (spoilers)

I think the best option is to have the Death House drop out of the sky on top of the hag coven. Then 3 gnome vampire spawn can show up and sing, "Follow the Old Svalich Road"

D&D 5E where you're going to die in CoS (spoilers)

Wouldn't that just increase the chances for a game-ending fight at the windmill?

D&D 5E Curse of Strahd spoiler-filled general discussion

    The surprise round and you

We'll have to agree to disagree, I guess. I'm all for rulings for edge cases, but changing fundamental rules on the fly goes past my personal boundaries as a DM.

    The surprise round and you

Consistency is hardly foolish. Players need to know what the rules are to make any useful decisions in the game. Of course, if changes are announced ahead of time as house rules, that's fine. But while house rules are fine, my assertion is going to be most people's experiences, as that is...

    The surprise round and you

The general rules apply to all aspects of the game. Attack rolls, initiative, saving throws, etc. Exceptional rules, such those listed in a monster entry or under a class description obviously only apply to that exception. That would be why you don't hear these complaints.

D&D 5E DM Confessions: What monsters do you overuse?

According to my players, most of my baddies are a-holes. I never feel like I overuse them, though.

D&D 5E where you're going to die in CoS (spoilers)

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that your post is without merit. Knowing is half the battle, as they say. I just took umbrage with some of the language, is all. But knowing where the hot spots are so the DM can give fair warning with clues in game is cool. I'm up front with my players about...
