    Effective Character Level...

Some people would say (I being one of those people.) that the 2nd level fighter is not really defeating the monsters, it is only the 10th level fighter, therefore I would not award any experience to the 2nd level fighter.

Tips for a party without a fighter

Due to the whole code of honor issue I find the paladin to be a pain, and the fact that sometimes we might have to engage in dishonorable tactics which a noble paladin would oppose. As far as why not a fighter, two reasons: one, the traditional four-person party consists of a fighter, cleric...

    Golem Immunity

I thought you had to make all 6 saves to take on the half-golem template. My mistake.

    Effective Character Level...

If a 10th level character was training a lower level character, he would usually find a challenge suitable to his abilities and have him face it alone. Watching to critique, etc. If the 10th level character was going to facing challenges suitable to his own level, he wouldn't bring the lower...

    Golem Immunity

The text say that a flesh golem's personality becomes cruel and murderous if it fails the will saves required when a new arm or limb is attached, since the will saves are pretty high, there is almost no chance for anyone to make them. So the first thing that would happen is a P.C. with the...

    Effective Character Level...

I doubt he would be considered a sidekick. A lvl 10th char, if he were looking for a side kick can get a lvl 8 cohort if he takes leadership. Anyways you haven't explained to us why a 10th level char is traveling with a 2nd lvl char. Some background would be nice since this is a highly unusual...

    Effective Character Level...

The ECL would still be =to the ECL of the 10th lvl char alone. A tenth level char is so much more powerful that a 2nd lvl characters presence is negligible. A party equal to the ECL lvl of the 10th lvl char would feel the 2nd lvl char to be a mere itch.

Tips for a party without a fighter

Hey everyone, I am looking to make up a party consisting of a druid, cleric, rogue and a wizard and I've heard such a thing is possible but I am not sure how such a thing would work out, I'm worried it might become a TPK real fast. I'd appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks.

Best Practices for running single-player (or two-player) campaigns

You're right, my post came off as if you were choosing to play solo. I'm sorry. I'm sure it could be a fun experience if done right. Of course my preference will always remain multi-player. (similar to Diablo single player vs. multi player.)

Best Practices for running single-player (or two-player) campaigns

Personally I detest single-player games. My advice would be to recruit more players and to postpone any game where you do not have enough players. It seems to me that it will be a horrible experience, since D&D has been designed for multi-players games. One of the first things about playing D&D...

    Counterspelling

Do you use counterspelling? Do you find it useful? Is it a valuable skill to have? I see alot of spells, feats having to do with counterspelling, I was not sure whether it finds much use or whether there are better options instead.

    We're bargaining over your soul.

I went through a period of insanity where I had delusions of a bizarre and persecutory nature and the above was part of it. The delusion was that there were two groups which were running things behind the world scene, one group that was good and one that was evil. And apparently because of some...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Why be a 3.5 fighter?

Yes it is! Didn't spot that. It did seem a bit odd at first, considering it was such a huge improvement over a wolf.
