RPG Print News – Gaming Paper, Gale Force Nine, WizKids, and More

Ultra-Violet Grasslands was definitely one of my better Kickstarter decisions... would love to see a sequel someday...

Pathfinder 1E What is the best way to dispose of a body?

Monster Summoning IV; Order summoned creature to fly off with / eat corpse? Or gentle repose and stone shape for a quick burial without any inconvenient "fermentation related issues"?

D&D General Best Dungeons for Inspiration?

Interesting question, another Jacquay module I'm fond of is Dark Tower? Also ICE's Moria module, kinda build your own dwarven themed mega-dungeon....?

    The Goblins are coming!

Nice, but I was hoping they might have been the very first (pre-slotta base) Citadel goblins, who had piggy faces, very flavoursome they were too; wish they'd kept that "aesthetic"... Their first orcs on the other hand were just "odd"...

    Starfinder Core Rulebook

5 out of 5 rating for Starfinder Core Rulebook More Saga or Star Wars than Traveller or even Star Trek but infinite in scope and full of potential. Wont set the world alight with innovating rules concept but then easier to pick up for that...

Quick & Easy 2.5D Dungeon Tiles (and terrain)

Good video tutorial, I like to apply some textured black or grey paint along the cut edges just to hide the cardboard, but that's a personal choice...

    Okumarts Games Cardstock Minis

Very nice figures, also those bases are interesting are they home made (they look commercial)?

Starfinder Starfinder - Tips for running the game and the learning curve

I've been following Digital Dungeon Masters live play utube videos as a prelude to running a game myself. I find it helps clarify both rules & scenario plot at the same time as well as underlines potential issues or provides some "scene-setting" descriptions I can then steal for my own use etc.

I draw the occasional D&D map

Another fan here, I've copies on my bookshelves of your 2014, 15 & 16 Cartographic reviews and Dyson Delves 1&2, bought through Lulu. Hoping you might in the future publish some of your mega-dungeon compilations in the same fashion??

    Demon Cults & Secret Societies

3 out of 5 rating for Demon Cults & Secret Societies Also backed the kickstarter (and got burned on import taxes - perhaps due to the inclusion with the book of a throw away sticker or some such undesired "bonus" item?) but felt that although in hind-sight I probably fell for it due to my...

    Starfinder STARFINDER Miniature Starships Peek

(ENN) Confrontation: Resurrection returns to Battle!

Colour me interested, in both the skirmish game & a new version of Cadwallon, especially if they bring back those beautiful map tiles they did for it...

    DOORS!

Living in rural France I often see doors I think would make good "dungeon doors" so I snap off a photo on my phone for later reference, Disneyland Paris also had one or two good examples...it helps no end to convey the atmosphere, when you're describing something you can actually see! If you...

    Books for inspiration

Continuing with the Bards theme and although Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time does live up to the metaphor at least in terms of the time required to read it, his character Tom Merrilin makes an excellent example of the diverse roles a bard can adopt, entertainer, diplomat, spy or assassin he still...

Illumination in Undardark cities and homes

Hmmm, given their reliance on slaves, how does said slave get the cleaning done if they can't see, and can you read books by infravision?

The Weaver and the Slake Moth...

Funny you should mention Iain Banks, sadly missed, he once signed Use of Weapons, I think it was, for me in a Charing Cross book shop... I also agree completely that EmbassyTown is full of great ideas but Perdido Street Station remains, for me, one of his most "accessible" books and perhaps the...

The Weaver and the Slake Moth...

Thanks for your response, I agree that whilst “thematically” this “ability” might be described along the lines of “your mundane damage sources are unable to interact with and thus damage such a creature across all of its multidimensional being”...Technically however it boils down to immunity all...

The Weaver and the Slake Moth...

I was always struck, when reading Perdido Street Station, by the description of the combat between these two entities and how they strove to damage each other on several different dimensional planes at the same time (or similar) I forget the exact wording... I was (and still am) keen to reflect...

    Physical Dungeon Features

I had this problem whilst running "the world's largest dungeon" - didn't want it uniform but developing fresh, new descriptions of tunnels became exhausting. I scavenged tables from various blogs to act as key word generators and free-wheeled from there...a simple field guide to rock types can...
