I also used latin as a fictional ancient language from a setting I made long ago. It was not called latin, but since no one on the table knew latin, it was not something familiar to their everyday lifes, so it sounded really profound and old. It was perfect for the job.

You just contradicted yourself: Magic is specific and distinctive in settings, except for D&D settings. Thus we can have have generic rules of magic in the PHB ;)

You are wrong. Leveling speed is not a factor on that equation. It's just power divided by levels. If at level 20, in 3.5 characters have a power of 100p, then each level is an average 5p step. If the same power is divided among 30 levels, then each level is an average 3.3p step. So 4E is not so...

If the same power level is divided among more levels, it's not so steep anymore ;)

Me too. The old Xmen and spiderman series from the late 90's and alse the Batman animated series from 90's were great too. But even if they are cartoons for kids, most episodes have a very adult thematic. Most cartoon theses days that pass on my TV at least are anime. Damn it, even Teen Titans...

But these are adult cartoons. D&D was for kids. Comparing to nowadays kid's cartoons, D&D is awesome.

If it happens to be the case it will be awesome! Just create some 4 or 5 Talents, put a cool and cheesy name on it and you have your Arcane tradition ready to flesh your character. Much better than creating a whole new Prestige Class.
