You know...

So, like, I've been playing GW for 3 days now and it's holding up fairly well. I've managed to get out of the starter area, although I did get pwned the first time I ventured north of the wall.

Been playing it entirely solo up to now, though. Anyone up for some group action? Thelisana The White on the American server.

On a side note guild wars actually looks fun. Just couldnt figure out if there was a story to it. Im into video games for the story first, and i could never decipher there being one.

If you play the campaign, as opposed to just PvP, yes, there is a story....and the campaign mode expends a lot more resources on the story. There are cut scenes, the quests you do in the game are related to the story, etc.

The lack of story, and emotional realization that WoW was purposely designed to force me to spend endless hours grinding....er playing just to get somewhere, and to keep me paying really drove me away from it.

Guild Wars doesn't charge you to play. And because there's a story, when you play the campaign, you feel like you're accomplishing something.

The SP campaign actually feels quite a bit like NWN2, but more polished. There's obviously plenty of random people in the towns, but once you get outside, it's just you and the crickets (and a zillion PC-eating monsters).

Hell is repetition?

Well, yes, the story is quite episodic, since it's advanced mainly by playing the missions which are connected loosely by the primary quests.
The third campaign has the best story, imho. It's also the easiest to complete if you prefer playing solo or with just one other person.
