The range of the spell is close. It states if not directed it float 5 feet from you.

Well if I have improved Critical Ray does that make it crit on a 19 or 20. The crit is delivered by the weapon. If the spell not delivered by an actual ray, why would the improved crit ray apply?

A spell sword has a enervation spell(or vampric touch) loaded up in his keen scimitar. When he crits on a 15 does the envervation crit as well? Does it crit on a 20? Or does it not crit at all?

Thanks for the input. Yea the illusion/conj criters seems like a fine combo. I know I'm taking a big hit with the Transmutation. I have played two wizards with heavy leanings on Trans and decided to cut it out to force change.
