I meant 6th level + magic should be quest-worthy. But like, enforced quest-worthy, not "5000k diamond" quest-worthy.

i.e. Ritual Magic? I have a hard time thinking of a spell past level 5 that I'd really want to put in that category - and I'd definitely always want the components for those rituals to be quest-worthy.

I actually would re-boot the thread again, maybe in a different subforum. But I'd want to do a rewrite of the E6 .pdf first, and before I could do that I'd want to be sure that I could get good layout for it. I'm not sure J.A.Dettman has the time anymore (I sent him an e-mail to query, though.)

If you decide to go Pathfinder E8, I would recommend that you slow down the 7th and 8th level advancement, and make those levels more rare in the NPC world. Those are definitely big levels.

E8 has a couple of problematic spells, like Evard's Black Tentacles, which can completely neutralize a character. 8th level in 3.5 was the very beginning of the magic-item arms race, as I saw it. But I don't know Pathfinder well enough to comment. E8 may well be a better fit for Pathfinder.

My suggestion would be 1. Get a decent SRD together 2. Write some mind-blowing setting material 3. Get art

One thing: I'd prefer if the simplest 3.5-SRD-trimmed-down should be the one called the "E6 SRD" The Pathfinder+Other Mods can be given your own cool name, like the "Axalon SRD" which lists E6 (or E6 + the E6 SRD) in its Section 15. Unrelated note: I think cursed items / artifacts /...

I love the dedication to the E6 idea but for required reading, nah. Get your campaign idea first, then choose rules that serve you and your players. Don't feel constrained by the existence of a monster in the SRD - do what works for your table/world/game.

What I'm saying is that I'd put capstones as an appendix. Is what I'm saying. So that way people get whatever flavor they want. Agreed about keeping out monsters whose spell lists cause them to be "too high" - give them another appendix.
