    Magic Items...

Oh I'm right there with you on that. I don't mean what does it do in the sense of not telling the PCs... That DOES get boring. (Plus I'm terrible at record keeping so half the time I completely forgot just WHAT that blue potion was supposed to do...) I meant in the sense that just because it's...

    Magic Items...

They haven't said too much about them eh? Personally, while I still want to be able to build magic items, and such... I'd rather they not be the "template" version we've had in the past. I'm beginning to think this is what really kills the "magic" in magic items for me. When instead of "Ohhh a...

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

If they can do it that WOULD be awesome! :) See I don't agree here. I'm not a fan of it being special by virtue of it just not using standard rules. (In my experience that just ignites a 10 minute battle with the rules lawyers- Especially when its eating their characters spleen... :P) I also...

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

See I found it to be a great in theory, poor in practice idea... In that in order to do anything I had to comb through various splatbooks and find effective class/template combos. 4e returned the easy for me. Monsters just worked well, and were easy to build and update. I didn't need to bother...

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

I'm all for that- if you can add some PC abilities onto a monster- cool... I just don't want to be forced to have to add classes to a monster just to get certain effects, or limit monsters to being built in a certain fashion just so adding classes to them works. If you can add some say...

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

Again I'm not sure anyone is really arguing that point? (At least not that point specifically.)

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

Not sure anyone is really arguing in favor of that though...

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

I'm not really a fan of monsters built the same way PCs are, so having classes layered on top seems needlessly limiting in my opinion. I agree with RangerWickett- make monster serving a similar role feel similar, but no need to use the same rules.

    D&D 5E Changes in Interpretation

Well aside from not being all that funny, they shouldn't have been taken as an insult. (Although I'm a monsterrrrr made a good ringtone.) So negatively in the sense of "Man you need to hire a new writer" as opposed to negatively in the sense of "You and I must now duel!" Which was my point...

    D&D 5E Changes in Interpretation

I think those videos were taken a lot more negatively then they should have been... But I also think this is because they were unfortunately a poorly timed attempt at diffusing a rapidly devolving situation with humor...

    D&D 5E Changes in Interpretation

I like Ze Frank's theory about polarization: FacePunch - YouTube To sum up: essentially it takes a lot of emotional energy to write a post or comment, and therefore we only really do when we have a strong opinion about something. It also tends to come out a lot stronger then we really feel...

    D&D 5E RPGNet Report: D&D 5TH EDITION AT GEN CON, PART 1

Wait... It's a playtest because things are out of whack? I thought it was a playtest because they wanted to test the system. :P

It is not a sorcerer, it's a completely new class

Thanks! (And you used a hyphen, so it is a word. :))

Convincing 4th Edition players to consider 5th Edition

Jumping into this conversation late but... I think for me at least, this is the essence of what makes TTRPGs great, and what seperates them from computer games or just other games in general. They don't need to tell you that stuff, and the more they do, the less RPG they are for me, and the...

I haven't looked at it myself... What makes it so "not a sorcerer" in your opinion?

    D&D 5E RPGNet Report: D&D 5TH EDITION AT GEN CON, PART 1

It sounds like (power levels aside) rather then a "bad" DM it was a DM that didn't have time to really let things get too far away from the "set pieces," and that style of play didn't sit well with the reviewer. Also considering we're in playtest mode and not just "Come Play 5e!" mode... It...

If we have specialities, why do we need a plethora of classes?

What if we opt not to play with specialties? Designing so non base classes are built using specialties either forces everyone to use them, or limits those not wanting to use them to the 4 base classes.

You know what would end all of the arguing and fighting?

No worries- I wasn't upset or anything. :) I see the point, but... I think there is more too it then that. I find it hard to believe for instance that supporting multiple editions (even if only with adventures, and occasional source material) would be less profitable then board games? Obryn...

You know what would end all of the arguing and fighting?

I'm not assuming anything. I'm not saying it IS a good market, just that there IS a market, and potential revenue, so assuming that it's a bad financial move, or stating it would be too costly without anything to back that up is just as invalid.
