Thoughts on wands being overpowered in 5E

Wand based Halfling character with the Lucky feat. Uses wands with Reckless abandon, re-rolls 1's, if you get a 2nd 1, use a Luck point. A 1 in 8,000 chance of losing a wand after all charges are used up. Enjoy!

    Fighting Styles A Missed Opportunity

I made a few styles myself. One style was for polearms. Double Edged weapons such as the Quarterstaff would use the same rules as two-weapon fighting. I also made a style of throw weapons, so instead of archery they get their own style. And I made an unarmed style that allows 1d4 + str in...

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

But what if they do get in? What then?!? This video idea is sounding better and better! It will be the worst costume ever!

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

No, I am not familiar with that module, or any really. 99.9% of the D&D I have played is homebrew. If you don't mind spoiling it for me, where do the Gibberlings come from? They don't propagate like normal creatures? You can spoil that for me as well if you wish. Ah, I didn't know that as...

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

Now this makes me wonder what a Gibberling PC would be like. Gibberling Their short, pale, grayish skin is covered in a thick, coarse black fur. Their fur is knotted, greasy, clumped with dirt, and filled with bugs. Their skin is rife with callouses, scrapes, blisters, bumps, and oozy...

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

When I opened the Monster Manual, I was disappointed. When I opened Volo's Guide, where I thought they would be added, I was disappointed. I have a feeling when I open Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I will be disappointed yet again. It was cool to see the Xvarts though. That did surprise me.

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

Not if you throw a hoard of 100 or so at them in ideal conditions! Most of their stuff comes from things found in the underdark that they have scavenged. So for example, if a creature drags an adventurer down there, gear and all, gibberlings can come across the remains at some point. I'm...

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

I am getting the shovel ready to dig a really large hole into the earth. I am going to start becoming the Gibberling. I've already practiced not showering. Soon I will infest my body with the bugs of a million swarms! And then I will find a cow bone as my primary weapon of choice. The sun...

    D&D 5E Blade Ward cantrip

I would say it's good for people who can Cantrip, and as a Bonus Action get 1 weapon attack.

If Gibberlings don't make it into Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, I'll be mildly upset!

One of my favorite hoard creatures is the Gibberling. They're gray, sickly looking, smell terrible, are covered in a thick black coat of hair, hate any type of bright light, even torches, sound like rambling madmen, and attack in groups. I've been really waiting for their official inclusion in...

Animorph races I should add to my homebrew world?

What animorph type people would you like to see as a playable race? Animorphs, people love them, right?

Drizzt Do'Urden Poll: Love Him Or Hate Him?

I too am indifferent to Drizzt, but I do own a lot of his books, and have read 8 of them, so I picked love him. Too many people complain he's a Mary Sue. But after reading the first 8 books, I can say I've seen him in some prickly :):):):). Now it's easy to look at it now that there are 30+...

Elves, Humans, and The Little Rascals

The way I see it, in most cases, the fantasy races age to adulthood at the same rate as the human races, but live adult lives in a much longer span than humans. So they may all be children and teenagers together, but once they become adults, dwarves and elves will quickly see lifelong friends...

Intro D&D Adventure for a mixed group

What are your thoughts on homebrew? And how is your improv? Perhaps have the 2 players who haven't played in one area, perhaps a tavern, and start things off with a rowdy tavern patron. See how they handle that. The other 2 could be doing something else with the main goal heading toward...

DM advice: How do you NOT kill your party?

There are a few ways you can do this. Attack a character and once they go down, leave that player alone. Perhaps have the attacker lock onto another character that isn't there to aid the unconscious one. However, if a character is doing something stupid, or drawing a lot of attention by...

To MAX HP or not to MAX HP

Maybe give them max HP a level, but keep monsters around average or less. That way the players feel really powerful, can take on more, and really enjoy the game on a different level.

Would you rather have Expertise or Advantage on a roll?

No, because the Proficiency bonus is half of that. Since the Expertise doubles it, it is really only adding 2, 3, 4, etc... to a roll that you're proficient in. Though I didn't state it before, I must of forgot, you are proficient in said roll. I fixed that on the original post to reflect...

If you could only play one---

It would be one of three races, Human, Drow, or Goliath. Most likely Human for me. Class, hmmm... probably Bard or Ranger. Most likely Ranger with access to Thieves' Tools through a background.
