    Halflings - What's the Attraction?

Best one-handed weapon for the halfling, if you don't want to limit yourself to off hand weapons (though the shortsword does give you that nice +3 proficiency bonus which means you get to hit more often with it), has got to be the Scimitar. Since it is not Versatile like the longsword is, the...

    D&D 4E 4e Unarmed Combat Weapons

I like the basic concept in general, and it would go really well in a Wuxia campaign where you can pretty much define your gear however you want to.

    Confused with Fighter class features

Basically, if an opponent that the fighter has marked does a shift and the fighter hits with his interrupt attack, that particular attempt to shift is canceled, but the opponent can still give up his attack for the round to make another move action without the interrupt to try to get away or get...

4E Keep your Shadowfell- A story (three) hours.

Ouch. Bad dice luck hurt your party big time, especially when that ambush went down in the second encounter. The Defenders did their job well in keeping the Dragonshields away from the others, though we had some VERY bad luck on the Rogue's part with the Skirmisher, which meant the Cleric had...

Please kill off dual wielding ranger genre for 5th ed, please?

I'd peg Aragorn as more of a Warlord multiclassing in Ranger myself for this edition. Especially later on.

    Supernatural Effects after death

I'm reminded of how Medusa's head could still turn people to stone even after Perseus chopped it off, and in fact was used as a weapon this way in the later scenes of the myth. So there's some precedent there.

We're Here To Help You!: Madness, Whackjobs, and Insane Asylums in the Campaign

Indeed. Psychotics were often considered to be possessed by evil nasty demons anyway, considering this wasn't a very scientific kind of age.

    What's up with RPGnet?

Dammit! I thought something was amiss when I couldn't get on this afternoon. Ah, well...still have Script Frenzy to tide me over until they fix this.

Have you ever refused to come back from the dead?

If my characters come back, it will mainly be because they left some very important task unfinished, like stopping a world-threatening evil or saving someone they dearly love. Other than that, if my character dies, he's staying dead, especially if he sacrificed himself to fulfill the very...

Immovable rod in a sword hilt? Can you do it

Not if you knock him prone and pin him to the ground with it, he won't! :]

Medusa & Mind Flayer "couple" - where is it?

The Cancer Mage and Vermin Lord would indeed be the reference in question. The bit about them that especially stuck out in my mind was that the half-orc's fondest wish was to be turned to stone by the gaze of his medusa lover. Don't know about the rest of you, but that is messed up.

Smallest rule, biggest change: Magic Edition

Every spell requires some kind of mystic link to whatever you're trying to affect, something belonging to a person or coming from an area that you're looking to cast your spell on. This does not lend itself very well to combat, don't get me wrong, but if an evil sorcerer gets hold of something...

Quentin Tarantino is a crazy man!

You wouldn't be referring to Inglorious Bastards, would you? Because I do believe that's been in the works for a while.

Rules for Creating Character higher than 1st Level

Also, if you have the PHB II, it has a rundown right at the end on quick creation of higher-level PCs, including quick rundowns on what each point of magical enhancement costs in GP, and it even throws in a standard Adventurer's Kit for those of us who aren't really crazy about picking our way...

What Forums Do You Like To Talk About Game Stuff At?

My primary surfing is mainly on RPG.net nowadays. Unfortunately, the forums are down over there, and they're busy trying to fix the problem, which could take all friggin' day from the sounds of things. :(

Going to church? Don't forget your sawed-off shotgun!

My Killer character in Feng Shui would absolutely carry a weapon into church, but it's likely to be a pistol or two rather than a sawed-off under a trenchcoat unless he's planning to defend the place from a major assault -- Triad gangsters and other goons have little to no respect for religion...

    Mooks - a good idea?

I do think this is a pretty damned cool idea. And I believe that Atlas Games did a writeup on Faceless Hordes in Burning Shaolin that would make for very good reading. They gave them 4 HP and ruled that any hit that did that or more took them immediately out of the fight, while anything less...
