For me, it's been purchases from RPGNow, freebies from DTRPG, and although I've browsed through the ENGS I haven't made any purchases there. I tried to buy some stuff from Paizo, but got so frustrated with things not showing up in the cart that I quit in disgust.

I've played in one M&M 1e campaign, and it was fricken awesome... don't have 2e yet, but when I do get it I will probably try to run a game. I'm still trying to get a new f2f group for D&D going too...

They may not kill them to please their god; however, for ritual reasons, because it is ordained by thier god (wouldn't "good" creatures strive to obey?), because everybody else is doing it, and a variety of other reasons.

Regardless of changes in the price, it's too little, too late as far as I'm concerned. If it had come out on schedule while I was still living at home I probably would have bought it, but I have other demands on my income now, and I've chosen another campaign setting. C'est la vie.

Even with the discount offered on Amazon.ca this is a tough sell for me... I don't play chess so often that I would be happy about spending >$100 on any chess set.

I don't know quite how helpful this will be, but the ancient middle-eastern worldview tended to be one where the "planes" were physical places accessible, if you knew how to get there. Tartarus, for example, was below Hades, which was in a different place than Elysium. Olympus (is) was above...

In my game, the person crafting/creating the item can either: 1) Pay the cost himself 2) Gather "power components" (which may earn more XP in and of itself than the actual xp cost) 3) Sacrifice something/one to provide the necessary power.

Well, since it's somewhat topical, the talking animals in the Chronicles of Narnia are able to breed true - so there is a precedent.

I would think that, despite the excellent quality of many works from 3rd party companies, if WoTC made D&D 4.x closed, a good deal of the gaming community would go with that no matter what. Most people buy WoTC only, and usually just the core 3 (for GM's at least).
